This is from the Autoimmune Hepatitis Association of America. As many of you know I was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis in 2014 after two hospitalizations in 2013. Even as I've reversed the tide naturally and put it in remission I live internally with these symptoms. By following a whole food plant-based lifestyle, avoiding gluten, dairy, and red meat and pork I've minimized the symptoms considerably. Regular exercise is a key aspect of my healing. There are days when I’m so full of energy and the occasional days of fatigue comes leaving me just wanting to stay in bed. But I don’t. I know how to listen to my body and have learned how to push it at the right times. Exercise helps eliminate the brain fog and provide an energetic jolt to the brain. AIH + Fatigue, Anxiety and Depression For years, it was heard in the #AIH online support groups that fatigue, anxiety, and depression are common concerns for patients. Research supports the anecdotal evidence. Early data suggest that AIH patients report significantly more fatigue, as well as abdominal pain, mood symptoms, and overall worse well-being compared to age- and gender-matched controls. At the 2017 conference, they sought to understand these issues a little more by distributing surveys. The prevalence of at least mild symptoms among respondents was high: 72% with fatigue, 55% with anxiety, 73% with depression, and 71% with cognitive dysfunction. 19% of respondents reported severe symptoms of fatigue, 11% with anxiety, 5% with depression, and 8% with cognitive dysfunction. #mindsetofgreatness #autoimmunedisease #autoimmune #autoimmunehepatitis #healing #fitover50 #writersofinstagram #autumn🍁 #trainingday #successmindset #iamenough #youareenough #warrior #truthseeker https://www.instagram.com/p/BpiRrJbF7_m/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=hx3w7qcyvnor
