This mug would be cute if it had a little smile between the eyes, but you can clearly see rosey cheeks on either side of the pit, so it's just gobbing on it like a snake with it's jaw unhinged

!!! Look at this! I've been trying to sprout avocado seeds for 7 MONTHS and each and every one just rotted in the water for whatever god forsaken reason, and this one was so ragged-looking, so hard to peel, so damaged on the outside, and I put it into the water with 2% hope that it might sprout and it was in there for 2 months already so I expected nothing and this morning??? I found it has a root!!! We're gonna have an avocado tree! It's finally happening!!!!!!

And they are such pretty trees! Gorgeous houseplants! Look:

This is a gift from mother nature, many thanks to my roommate who keeps buying avocados and leaving seeds behind for me to germinate!

Carved half an avocado pit. It was supposed to be a giraffe and a bead with the scrap but I think I made a funny little dog and gave him a ball. Not done, gonna let em dry out more and finish em but. He's cute! A small lad!

Thanks to the neighborhood squirrels, BOTH my avocado plants died, so I had to start over this week! I know some people do the toothpick-over-water method, but this has worked well for me in the past. Give it a try!

How to sprout an avocado pit:

1. Peel the thin skin off the pit (to prevent mold).

2. Roll the pit in a damp paper towel and seal in a zip bag.

Next, wait a few weeks to see if it will sprout! Check every week and re-dampen towel if needed.

3. If it starts growing roots, put them in water for a few weeks to grow.

4. When the root is a few inches long, pot it and watch it grow leaves!
