Hi I'm an alter and I know I'm nonhuman but I don't know if I'm a therian. I think I fit the definition but I don't match how most therians are. I don't hate it but I'm embarrassed by it and I don't embrace it it's just something that kind of is. Usually it's just ears and a tail that I feel and can see in headspace but sometimes I'm just a dog. I'm not a wolf and I don't want to be in the woods hunting Im just a golden retriever that naps around the house.
If you involuntarily identify as an animal, you're a therian! A lot of therians will have experiences that are different from you, no two experiences are the same after all; and it's also completely normal for your theriotype to be domesticated and not want to be in the wild. It might not be very prominent in the community but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist!
