THE SUDDEN EMBRACE SURPRISED HIM, of course, but Jekyll was far from opposed to it. At first, simply due to the unexpected nature of the hug, he tensed up slightly, but it took less than HALF A SECOND for his body to relax in Muriel’s arms. His head naturally came to rest upon her shoulder, eyes closing as he let out a soft sigh, returning the embrace instantaneously. The warmth, both physical and emotional, was very comforting, and Jekyll found that his worries were almost starting to MELT AWAY. Sure, they were still etched into the back of his mind, but the embrace soothed him more than he ever thought was possible from such a simple action.
There was no need for words in that moment, so Jekyll didn’t speak. He simply tightened his embrace, hoping that Muriel could sense JUST HOW MUCH HE APPRECIATED THEM.
