Hello fellow The 100 enjoyers! I made this map of the Coalition borders and figured I'd share. It's not perfectly to scale or anything but this has been my headcanon for a while now. I'd be interested to hear what anyone thinks of it so below the cut I'll ramble about my reasoning if anyone is curious!

Since there's very few maps in the show to help figure out where different clans are located, I mainly referenced this canon map for the major locations. I did try to take as much as I could from canon/canon maps, but the borders are based in a lot of assumptions or are just following natural features where it makes sense. The 3rd map marks canon locations in more detail along with some headcanon/possible locations for main settlements.

— Trikru (Woods Clan) covers Baltimore (Polis), the Washington DC area (Ton DC), and Mount Weather. We also know that Trikru shares a border with Azgeda, the Dead Zone, and the ocean (Floukru). I assume they also share a border with Trishana given they stumble into the glowing forest in season 1 and Louwoda Kliron since it's traveled to relatively easily in seasons 5. — Azgeda (Ice Nation) extends up into Canada until at least Lake Ontario and extends westward to Detroit (shown by Echo's season 6 flashback). My own personal headcanon is that Azgeda claims all the land north, "As far north as the ice goes", even if it's not actually in habited by them. — Louwoda Kilron (Shallow Valley) is located in the real life Shenandoah Valley, making it the easiest clan to place on the map. — Trishana (Glowing Forest) has an assumed shared border with Trikru which makes sense to have it in a forested section of Pennsylvania which has multiple National & State forests. — Podakru (Lake People) is naturally near/around one of the great lakes. I have them around the southern half of Lake Erie and a smaller southern section of Lake Huron. — Delfikru (Delphi Clan) is assumed to come from Philadelphia, which makes it the natural location for them. — Floukru (Boat People) may not even have any land since it seems like they only live on the Rig, but I gave them a small section of coast where I assume their signal fire pick up location is. — Sangeda (Desert Clan) is in the same area as the Dead Zone and I've assumed that they may have vague borders between them. My headcanon is that Sangeda once claimed/inhabited the entire Dead Zone (back when Shiedheda was in power) but now only the nomads inhabit the Dead Zone while Sangeda is the much smaller region. — Ingranrona (Plains Riders) can be assumed to inhabit a flat plains region and that they are adept at horse riding, making the lowlands under the Great Lakes a natural location for them. (They could also have similar land claims to Azgeda, with the idea that their lands go "as far west as they can ride.") — Boudalan (Rock Line) can be assumed to be adept at traversing rocky/mountainous terrain, which is why I put them in a valleys and ridges region of the Appalachian Mountains. — Ouskejon (Blue Cliff) can be assumed to be located somewhere in the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Appalachians and I placed them in the highest region of these mountains. — Yujleda (Broadleaf) can be assumed to be in a broadleaf forest (which is actually most of this map), but a lot of people associate broadleaf plants with warmer climates so I put them in the southern most part of the map.

If you read all this, thank you for listening to my rambles!!! I had fun making this and now I will stop focusing on it now that I've posted it (lol) but am genuinely curious what anyone thinks about it! (Also here is a link to the rough draft from google maps if anyone wants to see that as well!)

The world of The 100: Chapter 1, The Commander

Hello everyone! I’m here to talk about a subject I rarely really dive into, but this is something that always bugged me. In the “The 100” show, we’re firstly introduced to the Grounders already in season 1 of course, and since that beginning, we’ve heard about “The Commander”. Later in season 2, we found out that the Grounders are divided between 12 clans (not counting the Skaikru), and they are ruled by one nightblida Commander who can be from any clan.

Everything was fine until this, but the problem begins in season 3, when they tell us that Lexa was actually the one who created the coalition between the clans, so my question is, if before Lexa the clans were all separated and at war among themselves, what exactly is the Commander for?

It’s not like they have outside enemies apart from Mount Weather, but they never really fought against Mount Weather, so it can’t be counted as this “Greater enemy”, so why they even have a Commander? We know that Azgeda killed Costia, and they were never officially punished for that, exactly because at the time, the coalition didn’t exist.

There are another things in The 100 that just doesn’t make sense, and I’m not even talking about the last few season, which were terrible, but I plan to approach those inconsistencies in another post. For now, I’m staying with this one.

I would give at least two (2) limbs for The 100: Origins or some shit where we get a full background of Grounders origination and history with more details on Callie, and the first couple Commanders and really how that all came to be, and the growth of Trig, and definitely how Azgeda came to find the anomaly stone and bury(?) it

i go down a spiral every now and then when i imagine if the 100 s4 picked up from azgeda taking control of the coalition and declaring war and giving the show the opportunity to expand on grounder culture and history and seeing the characters in a full-blown war.

Character // toro, ash, echo

Toro , toro was her birth name. the name given to her by her parents. it comes from toronto. up until she was eight this was the only name she had imagined herself being called however after the attack on her village and the deaths of her parents she was brought to azgeda’s capital as the only survivor.

Ash , queen nia gave her this name immediately after she was brought to troit. her village was cruelty set up in flames and she was named for such event. nia had already planned for her to become a spy as no one knew who she was, because of that she would never bare azgeda scars. however nia strongly believed it was important to never forget the pain of the past. to never forget where you came from so she became known as ash.

Echo , her final name. an unexpected one at that, after she killed the original echo she took her name, again so that she could never forget what she had done. echo still believes in the azgeda way of life and will never go back to using toro even now that she has scars.

spy’s always kept the names they used while undercover as it was their version of scars. scars were never used for aesthetics they were there physical reminders of who someone is and where they came from.
