Tony was panicking, which was new for him. He never panicked. Right now he was stuck in the suit and had to watch helplessly as it, he attacked his team mates. Whoever had managed to hack into Jarvis must have been some sort of genius. Tony had made sure, double checked actually, that there was no way someone could override his protocols after Phil had managed too.
A blast shot out from one of the thrusters, hitting Steve across the chest, causing the solider to fall to his knees in pain. Tony wanted nothing more than to comfort him. He tried to reach out but the suit restricted him and continued attacking the others.
He cried out in desperation, hoping that Bruce would somehow find a to reconfigure Jarvis' settings and get him out of the damn suit. This was the first time in ever that he had not felt like he and the suit were one.
A few crashes, thruster blasts and more crashes later Bruce managed to reconfigure Jarvis, which led to the suit being shed from Tony's body as fast as he could. The minute he was out of the suit he rushed to Steve.
"Are you okay?" he asked, worry evident in his eyes.
Steve nodded, slowly. "Are you okay?" he asked.
"I'm fine" Tony almost snapped. "I wanted to know if you were okay, you were the one I hurt"
"Not you" Steve replied, all to quickly. "You weren't in control"
Tony let out a shaky breath and pinched the bridge of his nose before he flung his arms around Steve, careful of the burns.
"I'm so so sorry" he whispered. "I hadn't, I didn't-"
"Hey" Steve said, reassuringly. "I heal fast anyway, see almost all of the bruns are gone"
Both Steve and Tony knew that was a lie.
Later Tony stayed up all night, trying to figure out who had hacked into Jarvis, to no avail. It didn't help that the fact he had hurt his team mates, no, His family was stuck in his mind and he couldn't even drink the memories away made him hate himself even more.
It was safe to say Tony took longer forgiving himself than it took for everyone else to forgive him.
