❤🐍..this is #QuetzalCoatl located in a basement corner of the #Louvre in #Paris ...known as #Kukulkan among the #Maya, Quetzalcoatl is the perhaps the best known and most misrepresented figure of #Anahuac.. 🔥 The MYTH says that Quetzalcoatl was the #AztecJesus who came and taught the ancient people of #MesoAmerica about #God, he died in an explosion of fire rising to heaven, and then returned to his disciples a few days later. He finally left them and promised to return. Part of the myth says that he was a light skinned man, and that is why the #Mexica confused the Spaniards as God's. ---it has been fiercely argued by sxholars that many of the details of the myth were implanted by the Spanish colonizers themselves. 🐍 The FACTS about QuetzalCoatl is that he was not a "god" but a spiritual title that a person could acheive in life thru #selfDiscipline, scientific understanding and self-knowledge. The FACT is that there have been MANY individuals who have achieved this status in Anahuac (America). The most famous Quetzalcoatl was #CeAcatl in the classic period and #Tlacaelel in the more recent. 🐍 Quetzalcoatl is misinterpreted to mean the " #FeatheredSerpent " because in #Nahuatl quetzal is a type of bird, and coatl means serpent. But Nahuatl is highly metaphorical in nature. The meaning is closer to "Precious Wisdom" because a Quetzal was considered the most beautiful of birds it's feathers used as currency; and the serpent is a symbol for knowledge (even all over the world).
