Still thinking about Azune giving Enfasen that whole speech about hating Thjazi Fang and being loyal only to the Revolutionary Guard/Arcane Marshals and whoever commands them, which now is you, sir 🫡; and then 3 hours later as mere sidebar to the evening’s intrigue & adventure, saying to Hal, “By the way, do you want me to fuck up that guy for you, the one who hurt your friend? I’ll fuck him up for you. I don’t care that he’s my colleague; but speak thy will and I shall see it done.” And Hal’s like, “Please don’t.” and Azune’s like, “Okay. 🥺🗡️🛡️🫡”

Thjazi left Hal 2 swords, actually. One of them is finely honed, powerful in deception, magical in ways we don’t yet fully understand, and utterly reliable, and the other is the Liar’s Blade.

started this piece more than a month ago (at the start of the schemers table), and was continuously inspired by luis' character, as well as his discussion of the character (where he mentions that he hopes that the character "soars"). azune is a character that carries memory, and duty to keep people alive and living in said memory; like stars, they're long gone but continue to shine above us, and in that way each can be interpreted as a person in his life worth remembering (notably, thjazi and the three members of azune's family that he’s had to leave behind).

i was also partially inspired by witch hat atelier and the flow of movement that shirahama evokes in her work, especially in clothing. it's a story that's impacted me, and i felt that the influence (one that involves art, grief, and that question of what makes you “you”) really suited azune, especially when it involves a character that struggles in youth and older age.

this episode really has everything. crazy combat. them barely staying on their seats. marisha trying to hide under the table. liam running around. crazy taliesin faces. LUIS CRYING. bolaire being creepy. azune finding his sister then her immediately dissapearing. insane rolls. brennan playing with his player's emotions. lies and faking a nat one. murray doing the SINGLE thing she had to do to figure out the photarch was faking lying. god what an episode. the HALOVARS FAKING A MIRACLE. A FUCKING FAKED RESURRECTION. god what a GALA.
