Gardening advice please!

Tomorrow afternoon when I get home from work I am going to dig up a garden in the back yard since my pumpkin plant has a bud about to bloom and they need to go in the ground. I have never done this before! I’m also going to be planting my yellow watermelon in the ground. I am going to buy some blood meal but I’m not sure what else I need. If any of you have any advice on things I need please let me know! I don’t want to mess up and end up killing my plants. Please & thank you!! 😍😍
