These were brutal on my whole body, but felt so solid being able to hold my body for so long without moving anything except my legs. I noticed that as I got through the sets, I did not lock my arms out, so I redid them after recording. It's crazy how my arms wants to pull up me up to my sternum.. Finally got to work on normal #sidelever series, Progression 5, Twisting Arch Ups, Week 8 of 12 (deload week, 1/2 the reps of last week), 5 sets of 3 reps with associated mobility, Standing Weighted Oblique Reps in between in main set. Originally for this exercise, you are supposed to lay on a pummel horse and have someone secure your legs, as this allows you to hang down completely perpendicular to the floor and raise your upper body up past parallel to the floor. I opted to lower my support all the way down to my quads, to ensure I was using my whole tranverse abdominus during my upward and twisting movements. With enough of these I will probably get abs on my back.. Lol Anyway, love the progress! Last week, I laboriously struggled past my Single Leg Squat Series, Progression 7, Negative Single Leg Squat, Week 1 of 12, 3 sets of 1 rep with associated mobility Natural Leg Curls for five reps. Lol, this is more of my blooper reel, as I just finished sprinting 3 miles and my legs were definitely not ready for this lol. I went home and rested and completed these successfully. Definitely need someone to hold your legs to the floor when doing the Natural Curls, as any higher prevents one from being able to get up (see video) lol Utter torture..
