During Attorney General Pam Bondi’s congressional hearing, Congressman Jared Moskowitz delivered a moment that had everyone in the room laughing. In a sharp, public rebuke, he asked Bondi to read the personal insults written about him in the so-called “burn book” she had brought to the hearing and even offered to grade her smears with an Olympic-style scorecard.
“Madam Attorney General, I have like twenty seconds left, so I’m curious flip to the Jared Moskowitz section of the binder,” Moskowitz said. “I’m interested to see what staff provided on the opposition about me. And since we’re in the Olympics, I’m going to give it a grade. Just give me your best one,” he added, holding up a blank scorecard.
The binder, held by two women behind Bondi, was passed forward repeatedly so she could locate a pre-written insult to hurl at the Democrat questioning her. The very presence of the binder made it clear Bondi had no intention of focusing on facts she came prepared to distract, deflect, and mislead.
Bondi attempted a moral flourish, saying, “So first of all, nothing is funny about mocking the Bible and holding up a Trump Bible.”
“I’m not mocking the Bible,” Moskowitz replied.
“That’s what you did!” Bondi insisted. “You made a joke and I find offense to that. That’s all I have to say. Shame!”
Moskowitz, unfazed, pressed on: “I want it from the burn book. I want it from the burn book! Which is the best one? Whatcha got?” Bondi, realizing she had been cornered, declined to read from the Moskowitz page, avoiding further public embarrassment.
The Bible moment was especially striking considering Bondi’s entanglement in the broader effort to cover up Trump’s connections to Jeffrey Epstein and deny victims justice. As Moskowitz pointed out, his playful commentary about the Bible was both sharp and humorous:
“Trump’s name appears more times in the Epstein files than God’s name appears in the book about God,” he said, holding up a Bible. “By the way, this is a Trump Bible move over, King James. Trump’s name also shows up more times than Harry Potter’s name appears across the seven books about Harry Potter!”
The exchange highlighted Bondi’s defensive posture while underscoring Moskowitz’s wit and ability to hold her accountable in a public setting.
