when i landed in charlotte like a month ago i was wearing my band windbreaker and someone came up to me and said “you go to butler? butler pennsylvania? you guys are like, marching band royalty!” and i swear to god i cried
today my drum major came up to me in a panic and said “you’re the memorization god, i am begging you to sing me the song because i completely forget it” and that’s the story of how i ended up in the middle of main street singing america forever march 2 minutes before we stepped off
also fun story america forever march was written by the grandfather of one of our snares & one of our other drum majors
