"Hey my Bard brothers and sisters, I've got a handy skill to bring your attention to! Some of you may have already discovered and use it. It's called the Warden's Paean."
"Often times it's not a show-stoppingly useful skill, nor is it something to throw into a 'rotation'... Hells, some Bards even forget it exists altogether. But there are a few instances it may mean the difference between life and death of a party member!"
"Detrimental effects that can be removed with Esuna can also be removed with the Warden's Paean. They have a white line over the icon, like so:
"Effects without this line above them CANNOT be removed this way, but eh, let's focus on what we can fix!"
"Now, in this above example, some poor fool stood in Bad Breath. Since you can use the Warden's Paean only once every 45 seconds, it won't be very useful here. It'll be the healer's ordeal to sort either way. But in certain situations you -can- forstall certain death!"
Here are a few scenarios you might come across:
1. Agressive DoTs (damage over time effects)-
The ice attacks of Chimeras, and the sludge effect of the worm boss from Cutter's cry are good examples of this. If these types of DoTs are not Esuna'd asap they can kill a player... Worst of all if the healer does not notice the effect on themself!
Have you seen that person in party with 7+ stacks of poison and the healer struggling to keep them alive..? Yeah... This is good for that.
NOTE: They have to be counted as one stack to remove all of the effect, if each instance of poison is counted separately, it only removes one out of however many there are.
3. The healer is paralyzed or silenced -
Especially if it is a large pull! This could save a party if you fire it off in time!
Side note: In some instances 'Doom' is Esuna-able. Check for the line before you asume, but if the healer is struggling, you might be able to help 'em out!
"Thanks for giving this a moment to read through, and hopefully you can launch this skill when needed to avoid getting your arse shafted!"
