For the past year and a half I have been working on a save file renovating all of the base game builds with only base game. I have recently finished all of Willow Creek so I feel a bit more confident in releasing the builds now.

The original Parkshore sure was something, huh? Jokes aside, I genuinely liked the shape of the house and its original layout, so much of it was preserved for this renovation.

Giardino Martini - Reno

A Renaissance garden with a loggia in antique-ish style comissioned by the (fictitious) noble Italian Martini family in the 16th century, nowadays turned into a public park and an elegant bar. 

Have a glass of excellent wine, take some time to read a good book or play a game of chess or stroll around between fountains, palm and cypress trees and statues and enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere and the splendour of centuries long gone. 

A completely reworked version of an older build of mine.

This is actually a renovation of one of the first builds I ever shared on the gallery in 2019. Back then, I had just discovered my passion for building and felt very inspired to try a bunch of different things - the thing was I knew pretty much nothing about how build mode worked or what cheats and tricks there were (What’s MoveObjectsOn? Debug who?? You can rotate and resize objects?!). 

Also, I had appearantly also forgotten every single basic thing I had ever known about historical architecture, because the result didn’t even remotely resemble a Renaissance take on an antique building, as I had had it in mind. Still I was fairly proud of my build back then, because it already looked so much better than the shoeboxes with windows I had created only some weeks before. 

It didn’t build from any reference, but if I remember correctly, I was somehow inspired by a photo of a building in Rome I had seen in a magazine. However, I didn’t have this at hand while I was building and when I found it again some time later, I noticed that the building on the picture looked nothing like I had had it in mind. I had completely misremembered it! Still I’d say the build was kind of inspired by the atmosphere captured in this photo. Generally, I might have been loosely inspired by places in Rome and Florence which I had actually visited in the past... Not that the finished build looked anything like...

Don’t know if the new version is any good, but I guess I can allow myself to say it’s already way better than the first try...

Also, I swear the guy with the bag on his head was already there when I loaded into the lot. Perfectly represents the energy of the place.

Architect’s Abode (BG)

This basegame build's home to an architect who loves geometric shapes, concrete, plants, the colour blue and more concrete. On the threshold between contemporary elegance and futuristic fever dream, this design experiment combines comfort, luxury and practicality in a fresh and exciting way. Or maybe it's just a weird and ugly blot in the landscape. There's no arguing about taste, I guess.

An eccentric home for a single sim or a couple, equipped with some special features such as a very platform-y garden, a roof terrace, an outdoor dining area, a pool and a fire pit (just click on the sized down fireplace in the pot to make your sim light a pretty little fire).

As I imagined this to be an architect’s home, the study on the upper floor is accessible only from the stairway on the outside because in case they want to have professional meetings there, clients won’t have to walk through the living space to get to the office. This is the only reason I built it like this. Absolutely not because I temporarily forgot about the existence of the upper floor and had already decided on a layout for the groundfloor when I remembered it...

I originally started building this years ago at about 4am in the morning, which was also when I came up with the roof shape and garden design. Probably explains a lot...

For some minor changes (mainly for resizing some rugs and the wooden frame under the roofing of the outdoor dining space) the T.O.O.L. mod was used, but you don’t need the mod in your game for this to show up the way I built it.

Big Basegame Family Home

A spacious, cosy and welcoming home for a big family, designed for a couple with four children: a teen, two kids and a toddler. Surrounded by a wide blooming garden full of sunflowers, it offers plenty of activites for everyone!

Artists’ Modern Loft (Basegame)

A modern, what I would call stylish, somewhat industrial inspired loft, embedded in the rocky landscape of Oasis Springs, for an art (and plant) loving couple. There’s also a spare bedroom on the groundfloor for a potential guest, roommate, child, or mother-in-law. As you prefer.

The exterior is strongly inspired by a picture from Reddit/Pinterest.
