i feel like crying and my head hurts but you know what i want to get myself to write so more period batladies-i’m sorry if it puts anyone out but it makes me feel better, i’ll write cuter fluffier stuff after this:

Cass despises getting her period. Because of her hormone fluctuations and such not happening for a while because of her assassin upbringing it hit her like a bus once she was settled into the batfam and developed emotionally. She can definitely fight through it, i hardly hampers her but it doesn’t stop her feeling over emotional or not in control of her body. She shouldn’t even get head aches, she had avoided every hit anyone threw at her-what is this bull?

Barbara gets her products to make her life easier so she doesn’t have to change a tampon every 4 hours, the batladies can’t really afford to keep track of it in their line of work. She makes sure Cass and Steph are eating healthy, gives them the heads up to take pain killers before it really starts (it’s what my doctor recommended me) to help with the cramps. Steph is amused that she has two moms, seeing hers is a nurse that are so on top of it and appreciates the code words they use to talk about it in front of the guys.

When Barbara was just starting out as Batgirl and was in school she’d get really stressed out, especially near her period and so Dick was allowed to stay over at her place to watch chick flicks and eat junk food with her for company (the door was left a crack open, Papa Gordon was always observant). When she was staying in a college dorm he’d just drop in when he knew it was happening to check in, not mentioning it but keeping it in mind.

Cass really hates when the batboys notice it, seeing it as a weakness but Jason gives killer massages and will comb her hair until she falls asleep and Dick remembers an old family recipe for herbal tea his mom used to help before performances. Tim is so distracted that it shocks him to remember oh shit thats a thing that happens to females and spares her a concerned look and offers to run to the store to get anything to tops off on their tea. Damian will get them “healthy” dark chocolates and tea but linger awkwardly if they want company-he’ll keep an eye out for them like in my previous post but he’ll pretend to be bothered while spending time with them. 

The Birds of Prey are so there for other girls, it’s almost over bearing-there are chick flicks and candy and company at the drop of a hat. It’s extremely supportive and almost embarrassing, but it’s embraced. 

If Bruce has anyone else available for patrol I think he’ll straight up let them sit the normal intense workout out. He won’t make them but gives them the option, it doesn’t make them less than he just does his research and knows how bad it really can be in certain cases (if the boys had the same symptoms he’d make them sit it out really)

Cass is strangely tired during her period, she hates how drowsy she feels, so most of the time if someones there to cuddle with her she’ll flat out fall asleep and be the first out of it when watching a movie (an unusual occurrence, but it’s very adorable. She falls asleep rusting them and knowing if she wakes up a bit to being jostled its the boys or Steph taking her to her room or something.) She’s a light sleeper on training, so her willingly sleeping in front of someone is a form of trust.

Steph hates being irritated on her period because it’s like fulfilling a stereotype, but the boys will cut her some slack in snappy comebacks once they know. Damian will completely back off and Steph finds it funny.

When Steph was Robin, it took Bruce a few times to remember that she was in fact female and got her period. He offered to pay for surgery if she felt it got in the way or days off, but she brushed it off and made herself perform just as well as any Robin before her (take that TIm)!.

Ok ever since Batman eternal I have just been so invested in the idea of JayBabs like, when did this become important? I dunno, like Jason and Barbara together in any kind of relationship sounds so great because when you think about it they have so much in common. They’re both clever, hard-headed forces of nature to be reckoned with and they have so many comparable experiences and they’ve both gone through terrible accidents that changed them that nobody will ever understand. Jay and Babs both struggled to be accepted into the family in a way and like they’re also both sort of outliers who’ve had to find their own teams when the bats weren’t there for them. I dunno, I just feel like Jason and Babs have so much potential chemistry and I bet they’d be such cool friends wow.
