And a side note before I get started on actual writing ( I promise, I’m not stalling at all ), look at my adorable little droid!! Some of you who have been around for a long time might know that I frequent Disneyland a lot with my dad. It’s kind of our thing, but Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge just opened up in Disneyland Park a couple of months ago and my dad and I finally got to explore it. They have a lot of cool stuff like a Millenium Falcon themed ride where you get to go on a mission to collect important items for the Resistance, a store where you can build custom lightsabers, and they even have Stormtroopers walking around, interrogating people.
One of my favorite parts, for sure, is the custom droid factory. Much like the sabers, you can go in and build your own droid companions. You get to choose all of the parts off of a massive conveyor belt and you can choose between an R astromech unit or a BB astromech unit. They even move and talk via remote control, can talk to one another, and can even interact with stuff in the park!
Needless to say, I chose the BB unit. BB-8 is, by far, my favorite droid in the SW universe ( with a close second being K-2SO from Rogue One ), so I had to go for a BB unit.
I really wanted to make a green one, but that was not a color option, so I opted for a black base instead and then accented it with green and gold decals. I’m still playing around with the decals and may ultimately choose to paint on the details I want or something in the future, but here is my beautiful baby!
I call them BB-LK because, obviously, I had to base my droid off of Loki and I thought they deserved a post all to themselves because look at how adorable they are?
I really do hope the shop gets more droid options in the future, because I would totally build another one if green became an actual featured color, but for now, my baby is beautiful and tiny and I’m in love.
