Hi everyone and as we've all been a little nostalgic lately, I'm remembering my battles with the queen of hearts. I always thought I was the superstar of awarding likes, but inevitably Joy would defeat me without mercy every single time! So now in the category of hope springs eternal, what you got for me Joy? Oh, and yes I should have given away one more like first. 😎
Love to my dear friend Joy and love to all,
Mike, 🩷
P.S. And thank you as well to Bob for getting me over 500,000 likes. LOL half a million is absurd but Tumblr even sent me congratulations, still all things considered I'd rather have cash. 🤣
what else could I say about the cold? It was December in Michigan.
family and guests had gathered in the living room, drowning in warm apple cider and conversation, their words blending like static with the Christmas music softly playing on the radio.
I had watched Mother slave away in the kitchen, just as she had the day before. I washed the dishes and occasionally glanced through the window into the darkness, watching snowflakes drift across the pane.
Mother joined me and began drying the dishes. not a word between us. my hands moved through the warm water as she wrapped an arm around my back, gave a tender squeeze, and kissed me on the temple.
I handed her the last dish. she dried it, then gently dried my hands. together, we walked into the living room and melted into the static.

I'm amazed by how how far ahead of me your garden and yard is.
oh! only the berries - because they are perennials and they are not in the best shape so... :} do not be fooled. the plants I have : squash, cucumbers, cantaloupe, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, peppers and herbs just went in the ground moments ago and there are lots of seeds just getting started... carrots, radishes (they will probably be way too bitter and hot - oh well) peas, beans, pumpkins, etc... I’m more of a slacker than you give me credit for... we will see what happens. {fingers crossed}. at least i got it all planted before june 1 - whew!
