I have been getting back into Beastars (it’s on Netflix, I highly recommend – especially the manga) where the basic premise is that it’s like Zootopia except 100% more adult and it actually explores how Carnivores and Herbivores – Predators and Prey – would live together in a society; and one of the answers is the Black Market, where Carnivores would illegally sell the dead meat of Herbivores. That is because, despite their human characteristic, Carnivores are still driven by their primal instincts to hunt and devour prey animals.
I feel that In-ho would be either a Black Grouse – a game bird that would be hunted for sports by the British nobles - or a Rooster – cock fights – who runs a section of the black market and houses ‘Dog Fights’ (despite its name, any animal can fight). One day, In-ho finds a stray calico cat (they’re known to be sassy, spunky, affectionate, independent, loyal) called Gi-hun, and he gets him to fight in the ring; In-ho didn’t think he’d go far against fair deadlier carnivores and stronger herbivores, but he left the ring as his champion.
In-ho both loathes and admires Gi-hun – despite coming from a species that has been domesticated to be pets or to be cute, Gi-hun still has that deadly instinct to hunt with his sharp claws and fangs, things that In-ho never naturally had, things that In-ho had to earn or was beaten into him. However, Gi-hun is one of those vegetarian Carnivores who swore off meat, but In-ho is constantly trying to tempt him to break that taboo – even if it means offering himself on a silver platter.
Oh, I've actually seen some episodes of this a couple of years ago!
Oh, I can definitely see Inho, who was born as a prey or "bait" animal, fighting his way up to the top-learning how to survive, how to outsmart, how to run, how to beat predators that could easily devour him and tear him apart.
He somehow claws his way up in the black-market organization that sponsors "Dog Fights". He's in charge of choosing the fighters and of getting sponsors and making sure that their donors have a good time. Ilnam, a barn owl, was his mentor and sponsor who made Inho who he is.
Inho is surrounded by birds of prey and other carnivores and has even partaken in eating meat. After all, he HAS to prove his worth and what better way to prove it than by eating the same meal the "VIPs" do?
One day, while walking arround the city, Inho comes across a handsome calico cat that looks to be down on his luck. Smiling, he goes up to the cat and asks him if he's ok. The cat-who introduces himself as Gihun-laughs and tells Inho he's been having some money trouble. Inho smiles and tells Gihun that he knows of a way he can make some quick money and lures him into a hidden, underground stadium.
He tricks Gihun, saying that it's just friendly sparing but Gihun quickly finds out that it's an illegal animal fighting ring but it’s too late. He’s forced to fight for his life.
Inho watches, not expecting Gihun to win. After all, he may be a carnivore but he’s up against bigger ones and bigger, stronger herbivores too but he’s defies the odds and comes out champion and Inho becomes obsessed.
He tries to get Gihun to stay with him and the organization but Gihun refuses. When Inho suggest he could have all the meat he’ll ever want, Gihun scrunches up his nose and tells Inho he’s vegetarian and to just leave him alone.
But Inho can’t leave him alone, he has to have this cat—this odd predator who refuses meat and seems to be genuinely kind and sweet to all animals. Inho needs to see him lose control needs to see Gihun covered in blood, needs to see him eat someone alive.
So he follows Gihun, constantly tempting him and trying to talk to him, saying how Gihun MUST crave meat sometimes doesn’t he?
Gihun keeps ignoring him and Inho falls more in love with him but also jealous. Here is a carnivore with claws and fangs that could easily defend itself, easily eat a herbivore but refuses—and Inho would give ANYTHING to be have what Gihun has.
He feels that if he gets Gihun to eat meat, Gihun would be HIS.
Eventually, Inho starts showing up to Gihun’s place, palm sliced and bleeding, offering it to Gihun, saying Inho would GLADLY give him a bit of himself, just to see how much of a predator Gihun is, just for a chance to be with him…
oc x beastars au just for funsies. percy was always noticeably a hybrid and rayne has leano situation going on in which he started developing traits of another specie in his mid teens and it bothers him greatly
This AU takes place in the same time period as the original series, however there is an extra club in cherryton that secretly recruits new Assassins into the brotherhood. This AU starts out with seemingly innocent animals being assassinated out of the blue.
Legoshi (Leader of Assassin Squad 4) (Code-name 'Howl'):
(This robe that I made is one of my favorites.)
Durham (Code-name: 'Dust'):
(Another one of my favorites!)
Collot (Code-name: 'Hail'):
(Proportions are a little off on this one, so not that big of a fan.)
Miguno (Code-name: 'Tenor'):
(Did better on this one!)
Jack (Code-name: 'Malware'):
(He doesn't really do killing, he chose to be a support unit for his friends.)
Voss (Code-name: 'David'):
(I chose the code-name: 'David' because of the tale of 'David and Goliath'.) (Since he's small.)
(I'm aware that others have their opinions on what animal best represents each character, this is just my friend's & my take on it. Please don't spam replies/reblogs about this.)
