Uncertainty

I cannot stay, life is too threatening, I’m too fragile; too nihilistic and too vile.

Everyday is somebody’s last, everyday an echo of hatred from the past. Nobody is safe and who will survive? When everywhere you go someone wants you to die.

And you ask them to protect you, those holding guns against you. Now they have you in control the ones you call the law.

Who Will Survive In America?

On June 16 a fourteen-hour Democratic filibuster was held in congress in order to score a deal with the Republicans. Such deal promised a vote on bills demanding an updated background check system on firearm buyers and denying the right to bear arms to those on the terrorist watchlist. However, both measures were rejected by congress. As a form of protest against inaction the Democrats had a 25 hour sit-in on the U.S. House of Representatives’ floor. Yet again, without success, on July 6 House Republican leaders and many Democrats backed away from voting on a gun measure.

They had ridiculous excuses, per usual. 

“If the bill becomes law, it will mark a massive expansion of the government’s ability to restrict gun rights on the basis of precrime” said Republican Representative Justin Amash. This strikes me, because isn’t that the purpose, Mr.Amash? Isn’t the goal to prevent more murder? 

No, of course not! Because to the members of congress, the people who run our country, all that matters is the hand that feeds their bank accounts and such hand belongs to the National Rifle Association. That which is opposed to every form of gun regulation and spends huge amounts of money lobbying.

Yet where was the NRA and the Second Amendment when Alton B. Sterling was tasered, pinned and shot multiple times for carrying a gun in an open-carry state? 

Certainly not saving Alton’s life, neither the lives of numerous black men who have been murdered without justification except them carrying out their right to bear arms.

Upon this I wrote in my journal: “there’s gonna be a mass insurgence and the guns available will be used against you.” Like foul faith, no more than a couple days later the shooting in Dallas occurred. The murder of five police officers and wounding of numerous others; civil servants gunned with the weapons sold by those who sign their paycheck.

And sadly this is a vicious cycle. As casualties increase so does the idea that we need weapons to "protect ourselves,” thus more guns are sold and more money is being put into the pockets of those who have suits and bodyguards, those who do not care if the bullet that kills us comes from the barrel of a 9mm in the hand of a cop or an assault rifle in the hand of a demented cunt. I ask myself,

I Don't Need to "Check My Privilege."

I am not sorry that I am straight. I am not sorry that I identify with the gender I was born being. I am not sorry that society “accepts” me.  I am not sorry for not knowing what abuse is like.  I am not sorry for being “privileged.” And above all, I am not an oppressor, nor the beneficiary of your oppression.  I am not sorry, I am grateful and I am aware. I am lucky, I am blessed, and so are you. Because you are alive, and if you can read this you are probably free with access to technology and thus the ability to educate and express yourself. In Western Civilization it is easy to point fingers at each other, it is easy to put others down in order to build ourselves up. But approaching others with scorn and disrespect achieves nothing. Intolerance is a big contributor to oppression and hatred amongst groups, and the way to change that is by promoting tolerance, respect and knowledge. By attacking, “guilt-tripping” and putting others down you only push them further away from the goal you wish to achieve. So stop marginalizing others, stop alienating yourself, and instead begin to promote your message with respect. You’d be surprised at how many of us wish to learn and, if possible, help.

Watch this and show it not only to your sons like the original headline claims. Show it to your siblings, husbands, friends and the friends of your friends. Share it with your followers and Facebook friends. Because how can we stop rapists? Well, for the grown ass, gross ass pieces of shit who are out there I think we should keep showing our disgust. It is one of the only situations in which we should be hateful. Speak it loudly, let everybody know that rape is another word for an abomination and that those who take part in it are demons deserving of the full penalty of law. Let everyone know that rape isn't simply a misdemeanor, it is something that will impact and scar the life of the one you choose to use for carnal pleasure. Rape victims will no longer be silent, the world won't look away anymore, we won't allow it.
