HERE WE GOOOOOOOO!! Barden Med series 2 is officially here, and I have SO much stuff planned for it, I can't wait for it all to unfold honestly. I'm hoping to update semi-regularly over the summer as well as some of the other WIPs I have in progress, but from September onwards thinks might got a little more sporadic. That's a bridge to cross when we come to it though, for now I'm gonna enjoy the ride and hopefully you guys are too!!!

"What kind of flowers do you like?”
Beca looks up from her computer with a raised eyebrow. “Sorry, what?” The track that she’s been working on for the past hour is softly playing in the background and she’s sure she heard it right, but just in case, she lowers the volume some more.
“What kind of flowers do you like?”
She actually thinks about it for a hot second when she meets Chloe’s gaze. The redhead is looking at her expectantly, like this question is something everyone has considered at least once in their lives before.
Does she have a favourite? No. Does she even like flowers? Maybe. To look at? Sure. To give? Depends. To receive? Probably.
But there’s so many variety.
“Anything.” She settles with that, finally. “Any kind is fine.”
She looks back down at her computer screen and hears a, “That’s good to know.”
Neither of them talks for a minute and Chloe’s response hangs in the air. She doesn’t have anything else to add to her answer but she figures the redhead wants to hear more. “Like, I guess I like the one that makes me look more badass. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do when I’m handed a bouquet, ya know? Am I gonna carry it around with me all day? I got places to be. And I would rather be hands-free.”
Her hands then starts tapping on her keyboard. Maybe she can use the first minute of Disclosure’s Flow on this mix, and maybe it will work well with the other song she was thinking of. What was it again? Oh, well, maybe Chloe has some ideas. Or Chloe can also tell her what flower she likes. She can ask, too, she thinks. It’s not weird. The other girl has asked her first. No big deal. Just her crush asking her about things she likes.
Well, Chloe is her friend first (amongst other things) so it’s totally normal to be asked about things she likes.
Besides, it’s Chloe.
It’s a Chloe thing to do to ask.
She’s learned it early on, since they met. The fair. The showers. After auditions. After initiations. Chloe has inquired of her from as common as “Which hall is your dorm at, Beca?” (which was helpful, since she and the rest of the Bella’s were able to wait up for her after her jail time) to as weird as “So when will I really know how high your belt go for real?”
Why is she so distracting… distracted?
“What about you?” Beca isn’t sure why that came out so unlike her, as if she sounds shy. She has tattoos and ear cuffs, black eyeliner that screams tough guy, and conversing with a girl gets her all shy? “I mean, like, what flowers do you like? Or whatever.”
Chloe smiles from across her and answers without a beat, “I’m so glad you asked! Everything.”
“Not surprising.” She is quick to reply.
“No, seriously. I like everything.” Chloe reaches over to give her arm a joking slap. Suddenly, Beca notices how small her bed is even though they’re both on each end, legs slightly tangling in the middle. The ginger leans back and continues, “I’m more of an intent kind of gal. I like everything especially if it’s given to me with purpose. That they thought of me when they saw the flowers and they just had to give it to me. You know?”
“Yeah, of course. With your very sunny disposition, you could seriously have a garden by now, dude.” She’s rewarded with a certified Beale smile-and-wink combo and a gentle blush creeps up from her neck. Fortunately for her, Chloe picks up her study notes (the actual reason why she’s there with Beca at her dorm in the first place) and busies herself with catching up with her lessons.
Beca sighs.
She can’t concentrate enough on making a new mashup. So she grabs her headphones buried underneath her pillows and plugs it in her computer. When it’s all fit and snug over her head and the pads are comfortably hugging her ears, she opens her repeat playlist and Nelly’s Just A Dream starts playing.
And she sneaks a glance up at Chloe.

This is the first February 14 they’re spending together in their studio apartment.
And she’s just on her way home from work.
At 7pm! Her boss just had to make her stay an extra hour, add the commute of another hour, and she finds herself walking the last 3 blocks to her home.
She knows Chloe has no plans on going out tonight, not that it matters to her if she goes on a date with someone anyway, but she’s just realizing that’s it’s her first Valentine’s Day with Chloe ALONE. And they’re both single.
Her cheeks flush at the thought and she tries to blame it on New York weather. Honestly, why is it still winter? And why is her small body shivering even though she’s wearing thermal socks, a sweater, a cardigan, and a thick jacket? And where is that sweet smell coming from?
Not far from where she’s dragging her feet is the new pop-up shop tailored specifically for the holidays. Usually, Beca’s not really into this kind of stuff, it’s just a ploy to sell something for far more expensive than normal and she’s also not made of money. She’s barely making any and she’s already splitting rent with Chloe.
Chloe.
She remembers that Chloe likes flowers. If Beca is being honest, her crush for her (now) best friend didn’t really go away. Now is a perfect opportunity for her to at least show Chloe that she loves her. (She says it back whenever her best friend tells her “I love you.” But this is different.) At least, if that feeling is unrequited, she can just pass it off as a platonic gift, because of course, friends do Valentine’s Day, too. Just a friend giving her friend flowers.
She detours to go inside the pop-up shop. It’s exactly what Beca had imagined it to look like from the outside. It’s filled with all sorts of mushy romantic things ranging from stuffed animals to food and sweets. And of course, flowers. All of them are somehow arranged almost identically though and Beca isn’t convinced there’s anything here that screams Chloe. Until her eyes catch something interesting from the sweet section.
She immediately purchased it, not caring about how cheesy it is for her to be carrying a box home to her… well, to Chloe. She brushes off the weird thought that maybe it’s odd that she’s giving something to Chloe. An actual gift that she thinks Chloe will like and appreciate. The past 3 years in the Bella’s house had just been cards mostly. She did send Chloe a playlist that one time, but it wasn’t because it was Valentine’s Day. It just happened to be that day. Just a coincidence.
She fumbles with her key for a bit before she’s able to fully open the door to their apartment. What she did not anticipate is Chloe standing right in front of her, as if she’s been waiting there the entire time.
“You're home!” Beca is greeted with a big smile. But no hugs? She usually gets a hug as soon as she enters.
She tries to ignore it and plops down her bag on the floor. “Hey, you weirdo,” her foot kicks back the door to close it, “have you just been standing there?”, her eyes narrowing on Chloe’s hand that is unusually behind her back, “whatchu got there, huh?”
“I got you something.” Chloe slowly retreats her right hand from behind her to reveal a small bouquet. “Ta-da!”
Beca’s expression is a mix. Chloe got her something? Today? And they’re actual flowers. She’s never given Beca flowers before. “That’s..” she trails off. Friends give friends flowers, too, she reminds herself.
“I thought since it’s our first Valentine’s Day together in New York, I’d get you something.” Chloe says when Beca accepts, like it’s the most natural thing in the world to be given flowers. “And since you like anything that screams badass, I thought why not dried flowers. And I wanted to give it to you here, at our home, so you don’t have to carry them anywhere else.”
Chloe’s eyes are following Beca’s hands, her fingers gently playing with the petals and leaves. “Chlo, this is..”
She doesn’t want Chloe to think that she doesn’t like them but her words are failing her right now. So instead, she cradles her flowers like a newborn baby and bends down to take something from inside her bag. “I actually got you something, too. Hang on, it’s a little… stuck. Okay… I got it.”
With her free hand, she offers Chloe the box. As soon as she sees her best friend’s face, she can’t help but smile as wide as she can.
Chloe’s eyes are wide and her mouth parts. She holds out both her hands when she takes the box from Beca. After slowly lifting the lid, her jaw drops. “Beca,” she gasps and squeals. “Chocolate flowers!”
“I passed by that pop-up shop we saw last week. Remember you were watching that lady make those chocolates from the window? And I thought the same thing as you, it’s our first February 14 together so I thought why not. Also, since you’re literally the sweetest person I know, and I remember you saying your favourite flower is ‘everything’, so here you go.”
Chloe quickly places them on the table (it’s a small apartment so it’s literally just an arm away, Chloe didn’t even have to take a step) and rushes to give Beca a hug.
She melts into it instantly and finally feels like she’s at home. Her one hand is still gripping the flowers, which she managed to save from being crushed by chloe, and her other snakes around Chloe’s waist.
She hears Chloe say, “Beca Mitchell, badass in the streets. Sappy in the sheets,” and laughs. She laughs, too.
“You’re lucky you're allowed to say that.”
The taller girl’s hands start to roam behind Beca’s back. And she shivers when she feels Chloe brush up and then, down slowly creating a pattern. “Thank you for the chocolate flowers. We didn’t even talk about getting each other something today. Did we think of each other at the same time?”
“I literally think about you all the time.” She thinks.
“What was that?” Crap.
Chloe pulls away a little, just enough so she can see Beca’s face. “Nothing,” she says.
In a moment of confidence and courage, she meets Chloe’s eyes and says, “Happy Valentine’s Day, Chloe.”
Another smile tugs at Chloe’s lips. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Beca.” And she quickly leans in to give Beca a kiss on her cheek.
At that exact same time, Beca tries to blow a strand of hair away from her own face so she moves. Chloe’s kiss landed right at the corner of her mouth and her eyes widened.
Her best friend doesn’t seem to notice or if she did, she doesn’t mind at all. She’s already by the table, popping one of the chocolate flowers in her mouth and offering Beca a piece.
“I’m good for now, thanks.”
“Can you come sleep on my bed tonight?” Chloe asks.
Beca rolls her eyes and chuckles, “What’s your excuse this time?”
“I want to cuddle with you.”
And honestly, Beca can’t think of any better way to end this day so she nods.
I’ve never done this before but I figured it’d be good for my own embarrassment later.

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. I went through a rough patch that still isn’t over, but I’m doing my best. Anyway, hope you like this one. Enjoy :)
Beca hated taking the bus. Actually, the word hate wasn’t enough to describe how much she loathed the city bus. She didn’t take it often, but she was never lucky enough to fall on an empty bus. There were always too many people touching her, her legs hurt from all the standing up, there was this weird smell and she always felt like touching the poles would make her sick.
Today was one of those bad days. Her car hadn’t started this morning and she had been obliged to take the bus to go to work. When she entered, she saw it was, as always, full. It was one of those rare occasions where her height was actually useful.
After bumping into a couple of people, she finally made her way to a emptier spot in the middle of the bus. Why did people always stop to create a herd at the front of the bus when they could be scattered and make life easier to everybody else? She came to the conclusion that people in general were just stupid.
Her mental swearing came to a stop when she noticed the perfect wavy red hair that belonged to a very beautiful woman sitting on the bench beside her. Since she was standing up, Beca couldn’t see the face that of the girl who was looking through the window, someone who had such beautiful hair, had to be beautiful in general. The wind created by the opened window made the other woman’s gently fly and Beca saw the hint of a freckled nose.
She was still examining the girl, hoping to be able to see more of her face, her the bus took a sudden right turn. Beca who was more focused on staring at the redhead than holding on to the pole fell right in the girl’s lap. She heard the other woman let out a small squeak right before Beca hot her head on the window. She could already feel a bump forming on her forehead as she groaned.
“Oh my god, are you okay?” Beca looked up at the voice above her and she was met with a pair of the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen. Blue like the sky, she could have stayed there, staring into them for hours. Unfortunately, she remembered the situation she was in and shame started filling her.
“Uh, yes. Sorry, I’m fine. I - Uh ,I need to go.” Beca mumbled as she quickly got up. She felt like the entire world was staring, so she quickly sprinted out of the bus since it had stopped to drop out some people.
When the bus got out of view, she finally took the time to breathe and calm herself. Everything had happened so quickly, she could barely even remember, but the pounding in her head reminded her. She groaned in frustration when she realized how stupid she must have looked in front of not only one of the most beautiful human being she had ever seen, but also a whole bus full of people. To top everything, she now had to walk the rest of the way to work and it would take at least half an hour.
She worked as a music producer at a small recording studio in LA. She had moved after her first year in college, completing her hand of the deal she had made with her father. Of course, he had been a bit disappointed since he hoped Beca would get attached to Barden University and decide to finish her degree, but his daughter had a dream. He helped her move and watched her has she got her first job as a DJ in a club. After about a year, the owner of the recording studio talked to her manager and she got a job as a music producer.
It had now been three years since she said goodbye to the club and had started living her dream life. Four years since she had moved to LA. Four years and her only friends were still colleagues so she was surprised when the secretary told her someone wanted to see her. She told the secretary, Jessica, to bring the mysterious intruder to her office.
It had never happened before. Beca was starting to get nervous. Maybe her dad had flown to LA without telling. A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts. She took a deep breath right before turning the knob and was met with the same pair of bright blue eyes she had gotten lost in earlier that day.
“It’s you...” Beca whispered while staring once again at the woman.
“ I guess it’s me.” She chuckled. “ I don’t know what that supposed to mean but I’m Chloe.”
“It’s nice to meet you Chloe.” Responded Beca with a small smile. “I don’t mean to be rude, but what are you doing here and how did you find me.”
Chloe chuckled once again before adding “Well when you fell on me earlier-“
“I’m so sorry for that, I know how stupid I must have looked.” Beca’s rambling came to a halt when Chloe placed on hand on her arm.
“Hey, it’s okay.” She said with a big smile. Beca was still holding her breath. She could feel her arm burning where Chloe’s hand was, but at the same time, she had never felt so at peace. She just kept on looking into those eyes, hoping the redhead couldn’t read her mind.
“As I was saying, when you fell on me earlier, you dropped your wallet. I was gonna give it back to you, but before I could say something, you had already run off. I’m sorry, but I had to look into it so I could actually find you and give it back to you so here it is.” She handed Beca her wallet with smile that had to hurt her cheeks.
Slowly, Beca brought her hand up, but before she could get a hold of her wallet, Chloe pulled it out of her reach.
“What are you doing?” Said Beca, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“I’ll give it back to you on one condition.” Chloe held out a finger in front of Beca’s face. “Will you go on a date with me, tonight?”
Beca was taken by surprise. The girl of her dreams was standing there biting her bottom lip asking her to go on a date with her. She must have taken too long to answer since Chloe’s face started fall, as did her arms.
“No!” Shouted Beca. “I mean, yes. Yes I will gladly go on a date.” She said, grabbing Chloe’s left hand.
“Not that I’m not happy, but why do you want to go on a date with me? I mean, I have looked nothing but stupid in front of you for all of the time you have known me.”Chloe chuckled lightly at that before squeezing Beca’s hand.
“In the bus earlier, when you fell on me, I was lightly shocked of course. But then when you looked up, I had never seen someone look at me like that. I kept thinking about you and the look on your face all day. Then, when I came in your office, you looked at me with the same eyes and I knew it had to mean something.”
Beca was left silent by Chloe’s word. She had actually notice, not that staring was hard to see, but she had understood what it meant.
“Okay, so I will leave you to work and text me when your finished so I can pick you up. My number is already written in your wallet.” She have Beca her wallet back and gave her a hug with a kiss in the cheek before exiting the office. It took a couple of seconds before Beca came back to reality and went out of her office to see Chloe walking away from her.
“Did you really think about me all day?” Half-shouted Beca.
Without turning around, Chloe responded “ I’ll see you tonight Beca.”
With a small chuckle, Beca went back in her office. She opened her wallet to see a small piece of back with a number and Chloe’s name written on it. She couldn’t help but feel giddy when she saw the hearts drawn all around the paper. With a smile, she went back to work fully knowing her heart was officially stolen. She couldn’t wait until she saw those sparkling blue eyes again.
Thanks for this, this was fun! (especially after getting off a flight myself not too long ago). Based on the book ‘Can you keep a secret?’ by Sohpie Kinsella because I think the beginning is funny as hell.

Two hours and 47 minutes.
Two hours and 47 minutes is how long they had been in the air and also the last time Beca can remember having peace and quiet.
“Dude.” She then finally says, because one can only handle so much. As much as she hates interacting with others, the idea of having to live through this another 45 minutes of this is just too much. “Could you stop fidgeting, please?”
“Sorry.” The other girl says, immediately stilling her hands and feet.
“Thanks.” Beca says, then moves to put her headphones back on.
“Wait.” The redhead looks at her, her bright blue eyes meeting Beca’s darker ones. And damn if this flight wasn’t already horrible enough, now she also has to be attracted to her hot neighbor in 15A?! “What uh, what are you listening to?”
Beca rolls her eyes, because no matter how attractive the stranger is, she has been annoying her for most of the flight. “Just some music.”
The girl laughs. “Yeah, I mean, I assumed. What kind of music?”
Beca shrugs, not really feeling like talking about her music taste right now. Honestly, she was just trying to enjoy at least a little bit of quiet during this 3,5 hour flight.
She sighs deeply, realizing that the mysterious girl is still staring at her and isn’t going to except her shrug as an actual answer. Just as she is about to open her mouth to respond though, the plane shakes and drops just the smallest bit causing her neighbor, as well as a few other passengers, to gasp and hold on tighter to their seats, clearly frightened.
The redhead reaches for Beca’s arm instinctively, squeezing her as tight as she can.
“Dude, you’re kinda blocking my blood circulation.” Beca says as she tries to pull herself free; it doesn’t work though, the redhead only moving closer to her as the seatbelt lights come on.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” a voice comes from the aircraft’s speaker, “we’re experiencing some unexpected turbulence. Please return to your seats and fasten your seatbelts.”
Beca rolls her eyes and leans back in her seat as she casually puts her seatbelt on again. It’s nothing she hasn’t experienced before, having been on many flights in her 19 years on earth. But then she looks over to her right, painfully aware how the other girl is still squeezing her arm. All the color seems to have drained from her face.
“Shit,” She curses under her breath, before turning sideways in her seat so that she can look at her. “Hey uh, for real, are you okay?”
The other girl doesn’t answer, just keeps on staring straight ahead, her leg now nervously bouncing on the floor again.
“I’m Beca.” She tries, figuring it’s best to start easy. “What’s your name?”
It’s quiet for a few seconds, but then the redhead answers, her voice soft and unsteady. “Chloe.”
“Okay, well, Chloe, we’re going to be alright. You know that, right?”
Suddenly, in the blink of a moment, the redhead starts talking. Really talking.
“So one time when I was eight I had to pee really, really bad in the middle of the night but the bathroom was downstairs and I was too tired so I just peed in the cat’s litter box which was in the hallway.”
Beca’s eyes focus on the other girl, not quite sure what she just heard. “What the-“
“And then one time I went on a date to the movies but the guy was totally not interested in me and in the end he left without even looking at me and I honestly think he forgot I was there.”
The brunette can’t help but laugh a little at that. “Dude, I’m sorry. Guys suck.”
Chloe nods in response, but doesn’t otherwise acknowledge that Beca is there. She’s still staring straight ahead, holding onto her seat (and the brunette’s arm) as tightly as she can.
“In high school, everyone thought that I broke my ankle while falling down the stairs but I was actually dancing along to a Beyonce song alone in my room and fell over.”
The brunette is definitely laughing now, and she can tell that some other people are looking their way too. Chloe doesn’t seem aware of how the turbulence as stopped, and Beca feels like interrupting her right now is just going to make the situation worse.
“…and I don’t think my parents ever found out that it wasn’t the same goldfish but now they think they have some kind of superhero goldfish who’s crazy old and I’m super scared they’re going to try to get into some kind of world record book and it’s not even the same fish.”
Beca laughs again, turning in her seat again to watch as Chloe keeps on talking. A flight attendant walks by and asks her if everything’s okay, and if Chloe needs some water to calm down. The brunette just shakes her head, saying that it’s probably best to let Chloe keep on going, seeing as how it’s distracting her just fine.
“…so I just pretended to like his music too but I really honestly hate it and I sort of like singing acapella and now I’m going to go to college and I don’t even know if they’ll have a group or something.” “…we only kissed because it was a dare but I sort of liked it because her lips were just so soft and then I couldn’t stop staring at her for months after and I think I might be bi but I’m not sure and I definitely want to do more experimenting in college.”
“…I didn’t mean to but I just wanted to watch the new episode so badly and it’s not like the sex was any good either way. I don’t even think he noticed, I mean the TV was behind him and it’s not like he was focused on me or something.” “…I know that I shouldn’t expect some knight in shining armor, right? Or knightess? Whatever that is. I know it’s not realistic. But some part of me just wants that, you know? I want to be swept of my feet and have some kind of crazy romantic, passionate romance that makes me feel unsure and sure at the same time with someone I can just connect with and just.. I don’t know.. something exciting. Sometimes I feel like I just-“
“Chloe.”
Beca finally interrupts, her hand placed on top of Chloe’s that’s still holding onto her.
“What?” She asks, finally looking at Beca. “What is it?”
“We’ve landed.”
“We’ve landed?”
Beca smiles, then nods at her. Finally, Chloe’s mouth closes and she lets go of Beca’s arm, clearly confused as to how this happened.
“We’re not.. you know.. falling out of the sky.”
The brunette laughs. “We stopped falling out of the sky a while ago, to be honest.”
Chloe looks at her then, and for the first time, Beca feels as if she’s really seeing her, not just looking straight through her. “Oh my god,” She then says, “I’m so sorry. You.. I.. you should have stopped me.”
The brunette smirks. “I don’t think I could have if I wanted to. Besides, it kept you distracted.”
Chloe ducks her head, following Beca along as they get their stuff and start to get out of the plane. “Seriously, I’m so embarrassed. I don’t normally do stuff like this..”
“You mean tell a complete stranger all your secrets?”
The redhead nods. “Yeah.”
“I can pretend I didn’t hear, if you want me too.”
Chloe chuckles and shakes her head. “No, I mean, the goldfish story had to come out eventually.”
Beca laughs at that, following Chloe along to the belt to collect their suitcases. She’s not sure why they’re still walking together, but for some reason, she doesn’t feel like parting from her just yet.
“Oh that’s uh- that’s me.” Chloe gestures towards a large suitcase. She steps forward to reach for it, but Beca beats her to it. “I got it.”
“Thanks.” Chloe responds, blushing slightly.
In the second that it takes Beca to get Chloe’s bag and hand it to her, she notices the tag on the suitcase. “Wait.” She says, her eyes widening slightly.
“Is your name Chloe Beale?”
Chloe frowns, then nods slowly. “Uh, yes. Why?”
“And you’re going to Barden?” Beca then asks, pointing at the sticker of the Universities’ logo on Chloe’s suitcase.
Again, Chloe nods, somewhat afraid of where Beca is heading with this.
“Uh.. so.. not to make your situation even worse or more awkward, but I think you’re my roommate.”
This time it’s Chloe’s eyes who widen, almost bulging out of her head as she stares at her suitcase and then at Beca. “You’re Rebeca?!”
The brunette nods, then smiles. “I guess we can skip the ‘get to know your roommate part’ of the introduction week, huh?”
“Oh my god, this is horrible.” Chloe answers, her cheeks turning into a nice shade of deep red.
“Trust me,” Beca says, adding a wink to it, “I think we’ll get along just fine.”
