That’s it. I’m leaving. Funs over, you wasted my time Jason.
Us, rational, hopeful blarkes: Bellarke is going to happen, just wait! Plotline speaks for itself.
Also us, panicking, knowing Jason too well blarkes: but hOW CAN WE BE SO SURE?@!
Me and all the other Bellarkes going into each episode
Clarke heard BELLAMY’S VOICE in the mindscape and KNEW she had to fight, to survive, to live. The thought that Bellamy Blake was out there, that when she woke up he would be there, is what got her to pick up that hatchet and fight, live. Clarke knew she could go on if she woke up and saw him. He brought her back to life, he saved her, because they are meant to be TOGETHER
HAPPY BFSN!
I haven’t generally joined in because I don’t like putting pictures of myself online. But I figure this is incomprehensible because I’m pulling such a face.
This is me in my natural archaeology element after 6 weeks of digging and camping in 90+ heat and one of the undergrads said they wanted to take my picture. I was less than happy.
I probably won’t stay up for the live stream because I live in the UK now. But I hope everyone who is, enjoys it. I have a good feeling.
It’s been a while since I was really active in the fandom so I’m just going to tag everyone that I still recognize or anyone with a bellarke icon.

about Echo’s redemption arc and “bellarkes hating Echo” (rant?)
I have read both sides of the Echo discourse. People viewing her as the villain, ppl not liking her, people being pissed that others expect a redemption arc bc she was never supposed to go from villain to hero, what was supposed to happen was us seeing she had reasons for doing what she did and is morally “grey”. And blind hatred from Bellarkes.
And as a Bellarke who enjoys Echo, but definitely does not love her and thinks the writers did her dirty, I feel like giving my 2 cents. I believe very strongly I am unbiased even though I am a Bellarke: I want to like Echo.
So the thing is, Echo is a pretty cold character. Shes supposed to be: shes a badass warrior spy! And that in combination with how little soft moments we get with her, makes for little likability. We see her caring for spacekru, making jokes. But they dont work for me. “I was only being polite” felt awkward to me. Monty and her didnt seem super close, they actually felt.. distanced. Like, they know and trust each other but feel more like acquaintances who try too hard to be familiar. I mean, the fact she pretended to like his algae is proof enough? Its sweet actually, but like.. with my best friends, Id be brutally honest? Thats whats great about really intimate relationships?? So we get very little friendshipy moments. last ep she took charge and was a boss: it came off as arrogant. I know better, I know it wasnt, I even liked her that ep, but I understand why it could feel that way. And the ONE soft moment we got with her: Emori hugging her, comforting her. Echo shrugs it off almost immediately and goes back into cold leader planning.
Echo to me seems like a very closed off character. She tries to be kind and it shows, but shes just not very warm. And so its very difficult to like her when before she was a villain. She also has never once gotten a truly intimate, soul-baring and vulnerable moment? Weve never seen her break down this season, ugly cry because she regrets something, never seen her nervous, stuttering, upset, full out laughing or just being relaxed in general? (girl is rarely relaxed) With characters like her who are also ruthless... cold personas need to be explored in-depth and we need to really see their vulnerability in order to connect. We are told she is that way, deep down, but weve never seen it. And it sucks because she has the potential for it.
My problem isnt the villain stuff or the morals: my problem is that they did not find a way to balance out her strength and cold personality. And like its fine if you do not want your strong characters to have soft moments, but then we need to see other things. Humour is a great way of getting there. But Echos humour has mostly been sarcasm and eye rolling or awkward remarks. Like, very, very dry. So again: not working for me.
I think a lot of people hate her but dont really know why. And I truly believe its because of the reasons above. So they blame a non existent redemption arc, or her being evil, or morals, etc.
But the hard truth is: take a badass character, any character in the show thats liked, and compare and contrast. Luna: Super ruthless not many soft moments: but an intense pacifist willing to die for her peaceful beliefs. Thats her balance. Lexa: Clarke obv, but apart from that we see her trying very hard to make rational decisions. She is not arrogant, even though she can seem like she is. She second guesses a lot and asks for others opinions. Diyoza: being a true diplomat, little smiles and relaxed non awkward friendship with Kane. Also shes a warm character. Literally send me any name, ill give you an analysis. The proof is evident. They do not need a redemption arc. The writers have everything they need to make Echo likeable. They are not doing it: and the fact they think they are to me, is just plain stupid.
Edit: I had the thought while writing it but felt maybe it was just me, but I did also get the feeling Tasya could have given more depth to Echo. The comments I got on this post are really good! Thanks u guys :-)
I wanted to thank you all bellarkes, that made me watch Queen of the South. This show is a blessing and I probably wouldn't come across it without you, so THANK YOU.
