Last week at Bellevue College, an exhibit titled “Never Again is Now” by Erin Shigaki was defaced by a member of the Bellevue College faculty. Sentences pertaining to the Freeman family were whited out along with information about nameless Japanese families. The actions done by this faculty member has deeply affected the Asian American community. ⁣ ⁣ This week some exciting things happened. I spent 2 days at WordPress camp; 🏕️ my advertising team at school presented a marketing strategy 🎯 for “Cheerios,” and I attended a nice luncheon and road show of great tech to gift for the holidays. 📱⁣ ⁣ At Wordcamp, @bobwp helped me record my first podcast! 📣 The Cheerios presentation was super stressful. (Earlier in the quarter one of our team members threatened to kill our professor. Fun times! Not.) Our presentation went well and I am SO GLAD the quarter is coming to a close! My brain is exploding with new knowledge. 🧠⁣ ⁣ I was invited to a tech event by @techliciousmedia @mommytravels and @cta (Consumer Technology Association—the great folks who bring us the Consumer Electronics Show each year). Many thanks to all of them! 😘⁣ ⁣ Coincidentally I’d just registered for CES in January 2020, again attending as an online influencer. If school will allow it, it will be my third year and I really hope I can go. 🛫⁣ ⁣ As in past years, it was a treat to see some new and cool tech gadgets. I have been a tech junkie 💻 since the late '80s. I’m no longer on the “bleeding edge” like I was back when a 40 MB hard drive was $800. Right now I’m a full-time student and can’t afford to impulsively replace things that are still working. Even so, I saw some great gift options for $35 USD. 🎧⁣ ⁣ It was fun to get a sneak peek at the event, but mainly it was a much-needed break from school. Even though it was only 2 hours, it felt like a mini-vacation.🛀⁣ ⁣ Some of my favorites included a range of new back up batteries by Mophie, and the Jabra wireless headset! I like learning and I'm thinking about going back to school.🏫 Exploring options at Bellevue College last week, I came across some flowers 🌺 and a stand of vine maples as I was leaving the campus. 🌳 . . Most of the time when I'm taking photos, 📱I don't pay attention to blemishes or imperfections. It's only when I open an image to process it (adjust contrasts, saturation, alignment, etc.) that I notice things, like the dark patch on the leaf on the right. 🍁 . . Graphic designers are perfectionists.👌 The nature of the work is to achieve a goal through a visual solution. It feels wrong to see something broken and not fix it! 🛠️ . . One exception is nature, where there is no wrong or right. The promise of an unopened flower can be as exquisite as the beauty seen in decay. ☯️ . .
