RANT WARNING!! Today's COD is dedicated to all those fitness professionals that seem obsessed with re-inventing the wheel of circuit training :-) The latest in a very long line is something called EDT - Escalating Density Training - a 'fat shredding workout in less than 30 mins' ????? Sounds 'awesome' eh? - Turns out it is as simple as one of any number of weighted circuits such as below. Don't get me wrong, I like a good acronym as much as the next guy but keep it simple - all our challenges of the day are nothing more than various types of circuits of which none do we pretend to have invented or lay claim to - these sessions have evolved from the years of training we have done with clients and groups - sure, we have tweaked and maybe polished the sessions but to say we have invented a new type of training is ridiculous. We also do not suggest that one type is more 'fat-shredding' over another - the one below (like the EDT one and many. many more we've come across) is a great type of circuit but it's not new and it certainly does not need another new name to confuse people - circuits is circuits people and they are all 'awesome' and 'fat-shredding' if you put the work in :-) Now - rant over - get the work done!! 10 x Thrusters 10 x Press ups (on bar/dumbbells) 10 x Kettlebell swings Repeat as many times in 10 mins Rest for mx of 2 mins then: 10 x Weighted step ups 10 x Bent forward row 10 x Weighted burpees Repeat as many times in 10 mins as possible
