i was thinking about soulmate aus last night and i'm trying to decide which ones i think best suit my various ships and yeah i mean like 98% of these will never get written but yeah

coolmes: the soulmate au where they catch glimpses of each other's lives through the other's eyes from birth right up until a certain point (having sex for the first time? saying i love you?)

ben-squared: i couldn't decide tbh, like, with how close they were, they all just seemed too obvious for it to have taken them so long to get together? maybe the one where they get each other's scars because i don't thiiiink either had super obvious ones?

morter: name tattoos, obvs (see here)

cravy: same issue as ben-squared, tbh? but like maybe the wrist counter ones because they met so many people pretty much at the same time on the first day of hogwarts so they don't know who their soulmates are, just that they go to school with them

He'd only run into town for an hour or so, just wanting to pick up a few things from the shops, so when Ben comes home to a locked door, he frowns slightly. He can't recall locking it when he left, but he'd at least had the foresight to bring his keys, which he digs around in his pocket for a moment to find. When he lets himself in, the pair of women's sandals on his mat only confirm his suspicions of company, but instead of being concerned, Ben finds himself smiling.

It's a few moments before she sees him there, leaning against the door-frame, and her cheeks turn pink as she halts her movement, her dress still fluttering slightly until it adjusts to her stillness. "I thought you would be longer," she admits after a pause, peeking up at him from between her eyelashes for a moment before her gaze returns to the floor. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come in when I saw you weren't home." "I don't mind." Ben grins, pushing off from the wall and crossing to the center of the room. He plucks one of the flowers from the vase and she blushes deeper as she watches him move.

"I can change everything back," she mumbles, "To how it was, I mean. If you don't like it." Her cheeks are practically burning red now, and Ben stops in front of her, his movements slower now that they're so close.

Carefully, he places the flower behind her ear and smiles widely at her. "Don't," he reassures her, "I like it. It feels... homey." Lived-in, that's what he really wants to say, but he knows it would sound strange. This has been his home for several years now, ever since he won his Games, but it's never felt like much of a home. It isn't as if he spends much of his time there, anyway.

"And you know I don't mind you coming and going as you please," he reminds her, seeking her gaze with his own as he speaks, "I want you to feel comfortable here; this is practically your place now, too." It's only a moment before he says the words that he realizes how true they are, that she's spending more and more time there, with him, with each passing day.

And he kind of likes it.

Who’s more dominant: Typically Ben, especially for the first while. Benji takes over more as he gets more comfortable with himself and with Ben, but I think his default will always be to submit.

Who’s the cuddler: Both of them are pretty big cuddlebugs.

Who’s the big spoon/little spoon: Benji’s usually the big spoon, except when he’s upset. Then he just wants to be held.

What’s their favorite non-sexual activity: All the things! Particularly cooking together, playing music, and (more Benji’s favourite than Ben’s) taking pictures of Ben ;)

A head canon: I have literally written out five different things and then erased them because I can’t seem to do them justice and keep getting all flustered. U g h. Basically Ben-Squared are perfect, and that’s all there is to it >.>; UM. Why is this so hard? Benji makes it a point to tell Ben every single day that he's beautiful and absolutely perfect, and never has an issue with showing him just how perfect he is on his bad days.

Benji’s pretty sure that he’s being irrational, but he’s embarrassed, terribly so, and a large part of him wishes that he could die from it. It doesn’t matter, in that moment, that Ben is being so understanding, because he shouldn’t have to be. This shouldn’t be an issue, not when they’ve been dating for months at this point, and it’s unfair of him to put this weight onto the older boy’s shoulders. Still, it’s comforting, the way that Ben aligns his body with Benji’s back, tucks himself up against the younger boy, and slips an arm around his waist in a silent reminder that he’s there, that he isn’t going anywhere.

I actually CANNOT right now. Oh God. So, when Little Things came out, Leah and I - albeit, briefly - discussed it being played at the Dalton prom this year, and Ben-Squared dancing to it with Benji singing along... and now I'm having so many Goddamn feels because, perfect human being Timothy Joseph Urban, has gone and covered it to give us a nice audio to go with that image and someone please help me, I am drowning.
