“Alright, sweetheart?” Winifred asked with a sympathetic smile.

Honestly, Freddie was feeling a lot better thanks to her. Somehow, he’d managed to keep the soup she’d made down, she’d insisted on making him tea and fetching biscuits and now they were both watching some TV drama. It was one of Winifred’s favourites.

“Much better,” Freddie admitted. He didn’t feel so hopelessly woebegone, or drained now.

Winifred squeezed his shoulder. “Anytime, honey,” she said and grabbed a biscuit for herself. “I’ll be there whenever you need.”

The boys all love Winifred. She makes a massive fuss of them all, and she happily joins in with teasing Roger 😂

She’s the type to break out the photo album or baby pictures and school pictures

She’s also the type to “accidentally” make too much food and send the Queen boys home with snacks and whole ass meals. She thinks she’s subtle, but she’s really not. They appreciate it though

She was one of the first adults/parents to really believe they could make it big

Every time they visit she has gossip. They don’t know who in god’s name she’s talking about, but she sure makes it sound interesting

She looked very much like Roger: the same blonde hair and baby-blue eyes. And when she grinned at Freddie, she had the same smile as Roger too.

“Oh, aren’t you a darling,” she said. Before Freddie could so much as say hello, she pulled him into a hug. “Lovely to meet you, dear.”

“It’s, uh, lovely to meet you too ma’am.”

“None of that,” she laughed, pulling back. “Just call me Winifred.”

Ok I’m laying in bed and reading your fanfics but could you please explain to me Winifred and Micheals backstory because needless to say I am confused. Stay safe, stay gorgeous💕💕

In this AU, Michael and Winifred met in their early twenties or thereabouts. Times were even stricter back then, so an Alpha/Beta couple was considered unusual. People accused Winifred of aiming too high, and thought Michael was crazy for not going for an Omega, who he’d essentially legally control, or a fellow Alpha and be on “equal footing.”

Michael dreamed of rising high and making a fortune- unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Being stuck in a small town, in a small job, being told he made a mistake in his choice of partner, eventually took it’s toll on him. He always had a temper, but it really started to erupt and he took his frustrations out on his family, starting with Winifred and eventually turning on Roger and Clare as well.

Winifred filed for divorce when Roger was twelve, and it was final by the time Roger turned thirteen. Michael got the family home and Winifred, Roger and Clare had to find a new house. Michael had/has visitation rights- theoretically, the kids were meant to spend a week with Winifred and a week with Michael, which was eventually changed to “Michael gets the weekends.” However, Michael rarely showed up.

The last time Roger actually saw Michael (before he turned up looking for money), he was about seventeen years old. Michael also drilled it into Roger that Omegas were toys, sluts, etc and it took a lot of self-reflection for Roger to work past that.

Winifred is still single. She’s dated here and there, but has no real desire to remarry. She hadn’t heard from Michael in years until he turned up asking for Roger’s number.

Could we see Colleen and/or Winifred meeting the Bulsaras in the Dazmen verse? 👀👀

“You ought to be ashamed of yourselves,” Colleen snarled. She stood there with her arms folded, only two inches taller than Jer at most, meeting Bomi’s gaze with ease. “You’re disgusting, the pair of you. You don’t deserve children, or grandchildren. You certainly don’t deserve to be near Freddie and Helia.”

Bomi took a deep breath. “Mrs Hutton-”

“No. I don’t want to hear it. You disgust me.”

Winifred wasn’t an angry woman, but her experiences had given her a certain edge.

She thought of Michael as she looked at the Bulsaras and she wanted, in Roger’s words, to bash their fucking heads in.

“You have some nerve,” she said hotly, nose in the air. “I don’t know who you think you are-”

“We’re his parents,” Jer said desperately.

“That’s where you’re wrong, dear: you’re not parents. You’re not worthy of the title.”

Freddie looked even more nervous than his daughter and Winifred beamed at them both, hoping to put them at ease. She’d heard all about them and Roger gave her an almost warning look, silently pleading with her to not say something judgmental or daft.

She didn’t. Of course she didn’t. Who was she to judge?

Instead, Winifred insisted on helping Freddie carry the bags and beamed at Helia.

“Lovely to meet you,” she said brightly. “Roger’s told me so much about you, dears.”

Helia looked at her almost defiantly, perhaps expecting pointed comments like “And where’s your other daddy, dear?” or something else stupidly invasive. 

As far as Colleen could see, it was none of her blessed business. If anything, she was prepared for judge this unknown man for leaving Freddie, only nineteen, to give birth alone.

Poor poppet. 

They were sweet little things, both of them. They both kept asking if she needed help with anything and although Helia struck Colleen as the extroverted type, she kept giving Colleen shy, almost nervous smiles.

Oh! The Hutton family (or even just Jim and his mother) meeting the Bulsaras in the Helia au??? I don’t think that it would be pretty... (LTFG anon)

Consider this: Colleen Hutton and Winifred Taylor meeting the Bulsaras in the Helia AU, because they both tend to “mother” Freddie and Helia 👀👀

Yay for the Froger babies safety 🎉🎉 I have another question though...Roger’s mum is a Beta right? So in a more ‘medieval’ setting would she be seen as ‘lesser’ compared to a potential Omega Queen? So would the court more naturally gravitate towards Freddie as a ‘proper’ consort for an Alpha prince/king? (LTFG anon)

Winifred would be seen as an odd choice for a Queen, when Michael could have picked an Omega, someone who has to listen to him and obey no matter what. Unlike Omegas, Winifred has more rights and protection (theoretically. Michael being King rather complicates matters.) People would say she’s reaching above her station. 

She’s more popular than Michael though; she’s kind and actually cares about their subjects, Michael rules through fear. Betas may be considered “boring” but Winifred won her country’s love.

The court would be excited that Roger has a wife now, especially one that comes from a large family- to them, that bodes well for Freddie’s potential to have heirs. There’d be some racist assholes who look down on him, and of course Omega discrimination, but people would be watching and waiting to see how quickly he gets pregnant.
