If I had a nickel for every time I read a vampire romance series where the main character has a brief thing with a secretly struggling, playboy type guy, only to end up with a broody, long haired older guy who is later revealed to be the cousin of the playboy guy, I'd have two nickels.

Darius was doomed to die by a vision from Vishous. He was saved by the vision of another. The entire fabric of Fate was undone by the life of one Male.
Every member of the Brotherhood was cursed in same way, their sins laid bare before a woman thrown into an insane asylum because of her ravings of a secret vampiric society that lives parallel to the human world.
