I have one sim day as one year. And since University takes about forever compared to that I play five Semesters each season. It drives me nuts too, since I don't really enjoy playing Uni and some days/households just go on 2. speed exempt when something interesting happens. Additionally I sent teens to Uni when they are five days from growing up and steal them three days of adulthood when they have finished so they are equal with their pals that didn't go to uni

Yes, I think the 1 day = 1 year is the most intuitive RL equivalent. As long as you don’t think about the seasons lasting 5 years, 3-year pregnancies, and other in-game things that don’t quite add up. :P So I don’t even bother trying. For me, they’re not humans on earth...they’re Sims in a world with different rules. :) 

Sorry, got sidetracked...ha ha. That’s a lot of university per season. Have you tried the college adjuster to skip ahead if you get bored? It has an option to put the final exam only 2 hrs away. 

I like your idea of stealing some days from adulthood. I was always taking from teen days only, but then I found that made their teen stage way too short. Now I just add extra days to my non-uni teens, but I might try your idea next time I try to make uni fit with the main ‘hood....the ongoing quest! :P

Phaenoh's Great Clothing Migration V2 has the AL enabled for outerwear (http://modthesims.info/d/280521)

Ooh, thank you! I didn’t like every change it offered, but I edited it a bit and it seems to be working fine. Most importantly, the hats are showing up in outerwear--yay!

The way to do it is to extract the resources from the game and then recategorize them (in SimPe). There is a tutorial on how to do this on MTS, and looking at an existing recategorizing package (by Phaenoh for example) will help too.

Thanks for the tips! It sounds a bit beyond my basic SimPE knowledge, but I’ll look up the tutorials for future reference. The mod HB linked above works for what I wanted this time, but I’m sure another time will come when I want something else recategorized...

Thank you! It’s actually quite painful to recolor these, because of the horrible mapping (I’m not even surprised anymore XD) Fortunately I managed to figure it out :)

Thank you! :) I’m really happy with how it turned out. I was kind of thinking about maybe sharing all the houses I built for the Bordens after I’m done with the challenge. I really should have saved this one to the Sim Bin first so I don’t have to rebuilt it. XD At least it’s small!

They’re an add-on for the anes set, you can find the one tile nursery is from here and the two tiles version here also there is a toddler’s bed : )

holleyberry: headcanon: Skip bought all that expensive junk in their room. I always sell it all so she doesn't have to go to work immediately.

Absolutely love that headcanon! XD and i do the same, except that i sell everything and send her off to work.

This is fairly easy in my mind. Her middle name is Prue, after Gabe’s mother (whose name was Prudence).

Admittedly, when I first thought about this months ago, Julianna was the name that stuck for me. But over time (and I guess as Jules develops as a character in my hood), it doesn’t feel right.

Me too, Julia feels like the most sensible result. That said, I don’t think Julia (or Julie, though I don’t see Jules as a Julie) would give Jules too much grief. I want her to hate her full name.

I've always imagined that Alexandria prefers Alex, and was the one who had Jules officially named with the nickname form of the name to sidestep her having to deal with it all her life like she has. (I know people who've done this. Maggie vs. Margaret on the birth certificate, for example.) Maybe Jules then reacts back against that idea and would rather have the longer, more traditional/feminine form instead?                

I like this level of detail :D. IMO Jules is too nick-namey to commit to a birth certificate, unlike Maggie et al. I think Alexandra would have named their child, so whatever the longer version of Jules’ name is, she is going to hate by default. Gabe and Alex would have called her Jules from an early age, too, so she’d hardly be used to hearing it unless there was a negative connotation, like being in trouble.

I prefer her full name as Julianne (Gabe (in reality - Gabriel) thought it sounded quite noble and intelligent), but for her it sounds too old fashioned and too long (I think it was a misery for her to write it on her notebook at first day at school) so she went as friends called her - Jules.    

I am leaning toward Julianne. I think it has the feeling of being too elderly and elegant for Jules to want to be known as, at this point in her life. Juliet/te perhaps too, but not Julie. I do only see Gabe as Gabe though, not Gabriel. :)

Thankyou! This is part, wouldn’t-it-be-fun-if-they-were-kinda-broke and part that I keep records of my families finances, even though it’s a story hood. They have 5 of those 10K mortgage shrubs which I have edited to have higher interest, so when I say the Smiths have reason to worry about money, I actually mean it :P

Lol! She totally makes sure there are easily accessible condoms in the house for Johnny to “steal”. He is 17 after all, he’s gonna have sex if he can! I don’t think she’s the “not the regular mom, I’m a cool mom!”-type of mother though, more realistic, and also a nurse, so she’d want to her kids to avoid STDs and pregnancy if there’s anything she can do about it.

What does OBWC stand for?

Officially Wacky Boolprop Challenge! The rules can be found here, over at the Boolprop forums. It’s a challenge that is specific to that forum and I’ve been a member there forever and have attempted the challenge so many times. XD I’m so glad that I finally finished one!
