So here's the thing right. If Scott does sacrifice himself and takes Nom's place AND turns into the next Creaking King. These are assumptions I'm taking before I yap, hey so yeah so that's. Not..... NOM IS 100% BLAMING HIMSELF FOR THAT. HE IS GOING TO BLAME SCOTT'S DEATH ENTIRELY ON HIMSELF. If he wasn't able to convince Scott otherwise and he let this happen and could not help him in any way shape or form—ofcourse he's gonna take Scott's death as one of the many on his back!
Because let's be real. If Nom didn't take that deal up with the Creaking King, Scott wouldn't have either. It's a problem that would have never existed. AND EVEN IF SOMEONE ELSE GOT THE CLUMP IT'D PROBABLY BE THAT FUCKING TREE'S SWEET LITTLE BABY ACOLYTE WE BOO AND THROW TOMATOES 😒😒🍅🍅🍅‼️‼️ the yaoi that I DON'T support (/hj go get your tree man, neckromancer! or whatever LMAO) back to my boys though. If Nom waited to communicate or just didn't give in to war or the Creaking King's stupid freaking boons then Scott would be alive. There would be no one to sacrifice himself for. (this is also assuming that the war doesn't happen or atleast ends not tragically VERY unlikely but still) No matter what, no one else that he knows and cares about would have taken that deal. But he did. And Scott cared too much to let that happen.
It's not even JUST Scott treasuring Nom as a friend. It's how he's failed and blamed himself for his parents death aswell. It's how he trained and worked so hard to become powerful enough to protect the only people he has left because if he lost another person he would NOT be able to take it. Hell, we know DAMN well that Scott might've gone off the deep end on his way back to blue kingdom had it not been for Pyro! And if the plague was being caused by the Creaking King and he was offered a way to stop it then he would take it in a heartbeat. Tbh the only thing stopping him was that he was king and had confidence....well when your best friend offers his life up to protect everyone else's before you can, the next best option is to take that choice from him and let him know that if anyone is dying on your watch, it's going to be yourself!
I also thought of a suuuper cool concept of how when Scott takes the sacrifice from Nom and starts creaking and all the flowers and moss around his house just turns into pale moss and eye blossoms and it just spreads. All of the cute flowers with white petals with a light yellow middle just turn into large black petals with a glowing orange orb that works like an eye. Resin starts taking over the water and trees turn pale. After his death they just have to take all of his plants away because they can't risk it spreading... The only flowers by his grave are those that were grown by the townsfolk.
Scott wouldn't be dead either. If he is to take the Creaking King's place then he would be alive in the worst sense. The guy said it himself! "Death is a mercy." And something about suffering for eternity... The dungeon would be incredibly worse too. Like this shit spreads like WILDFIRE once the nature mage wakes up in it. Just imagine the giant tree standing firm and tall again but this time it has like about a million firefly-like eyeblossoms glowing in it OHH so so pretty... This does have me imagining a season 2 with Creaking King Scott Springwell with the Dungeon just because I'm getting minigame ideas XD
Color tag with pale moss Vs moss carpets, tic-tac-toe with pale vs moss blocks, possibly even flower trivia dammit LMAO ooo or scavenger hunting for flowers and replacing a flowerbed with the correct set of flowersss everything is flower themed or moss related ok. Ooo maybe drip leaf parkour and you've gotta outrun the creakings and the pale moss catching up behind you.... Big brain thoughts man I don't know how I do it (copious amounts of hyperfixation)
Oh also one last thing. Flowersmith in My September with this concept, have. fun. (I'm 67 ft deep in the ground)
