The modded vs unmodded tav/durge discourse is just so confusing to me.

Like, as someone with a heavily modded tav, I can take a joke and I’m willing to laugh along when someone comments on modded tavs looking eccentric. However, what I don’t understand is getting genuinely upset, angry, or hateful toward modded tavs. Like, a while back I was on twitter and someone made a joke about how modded tavs look like goth pretty boys, and I commented a pic of my tav and laughed because, while he isn’t goth, he’s certainly a prettyboy. A little while later the person rt’d their own post and wrote, ‘why are you all commenting pictures of your tavs, I’m making fun of them.’

Anyway, call me too sensitive or whatever, but I genuinely do not understand how a person can’t fathom the idea of someone laughing at themselves or will make a joke that could be interpreted as a silly jab, then double down and clarify that, no, they genuinely meant it as an insult.

I don’t understand the outrage because there’s no way it can be jealousy. Sure, console players are more limited in their choices than PC players, but console mods do exist and are readily available.

It’s just… so fucking weird to care so much what others do with their own OCs. No, you’re not better than everyone else because your OC is vanilla. The character creator is incredibly limited, and making fun of people’s OCs gives me immature 14-year-old vibes. Just stop.
