out of all the eras I’ve made (which is now 1530s, 1580s, 1630s, 1660s, 1770s, 1780s, 1790s, 1800s, 1820s, 1830s, 1860s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 1900s, 1910s, 1920s) - the 1630s is the only one I don’t think I could wear every day. 

There’s just so MUCH up top! and the sleeves, despite being enormous, actually restrict your movement quite a bit because of the way they’re attached. I also dislike having to finagle all the cloth and skirts when it comes to putting on a bumroll, two petticoats, and THEN having to hoist yon bust up into a supportive bodice whilst constraining it under the shift. (Which honestly was an issue with 1660s too... There’s something to be said for separate bodies/stays.)

I was able to move around pretty well - stuffed myself into two Ubers without a problem, re-tied my shoes, etc. as you can see - but it just feels like a lot. I’m not sure the easy ability to bend at the waist is worth it 😂

I do find it hilarious that even after 8 years of the show and over 20 years since the original book was released D & D still underestimate and under appreciate the GOT fandom and actually think they can get away with ‘subverting expectations’ and doing the unexpected without fans getting protective, literally unravelling every plot point, theorizing and feeling cheated when they don’t do the story or characters justice. Total Jokes.

this has now happened twice so i need to call myself out: i don't read tags because i don't like spoilers, and especially if it's a recommendation or by an author i love, i just go in blind. sometimes, i do read tags, make sure i'm interested, then add it to my marked for later list — and when the later comes, i don't check the tags again. either way, two separate occasions i was reading an au fic from tony's pov, get to the part he meets steve, have him admire him for a bit, have them interact, all the nice stuff... then when they finally introduce themselves, my brain bluescreens when steve suddenly introduces himself as james and i realise it was a winteriron fic all along. what's worse, in one of the fics his long hair and missing limb is even mentioned (although in my defense, he was in an injured wolf-form at the time, and i thought the missing leg was a result of the same situation tony rescued him from). but yeah. just liv things. :D
