Out of Control| AU Drabble
Lee couldn't sleep. He unzipped his tent, crawled out, and stretched a little. He spotted the full moon through the tree branches above. The air was cool. The fire Thomas had cooked fish over had long since gone out. Thomas was asleep in his tent. Lee wasn't sure what made him turn towards it. His eyes widened. Snape's lessons his fifth year had not gone unlearned. The more human-like eyes, the shorter snout, the size:Werewolf.
It was sniffing around Thomas' tent. Thomas was a muggle. Lee would stand a better chance. Not by much, but at least he had a way of attempting to defend himself. Lee drew his wand from his coat pocket. He picked up a stick and threw it at the werewolf. “HEY.” The grey head snarled and looked for the source of the disruption. Lee ran.
He cast a disillusionment charm upon himself and the slimy sensation of an egg cracking over his head spread as his form nearly vanished. The creature could still smell him. And Lee's feet pounded and crunched over leaves and sticks. His breaths and heartbeat seemed too loud. He didn't need to look over his shoulder—a snap at his heel signaled he'd lost his head-start advantage.
Teeth sank into his leg, Lee's face hit leaves, he rolled onto his back and kicked. There was a short yelp, but before Lee could scramble to his feet, paws slammed his shoulders back into the ground. He slashed upward with his wand, trying to fling stinging hexes and stunners. He managed to wiggle out from it's paws,he scooted backwards with one hand, wand raised in the other, he backed up to a tree and shakily attempted to stand. The werewolf was on him instantly and it was difficult to think with claws and teeth and hot breath and weight smashing and tearing. He kicked and he hit and he screamed and tried to think of a spell. And one seemed to slash out in his fear and anger, but he had no name for it and the curse erupted from his wand almost of it's own accord, and warm blood spurted and Lee couldn't tell if it was his or--
The creature collapsed on top of him.He dragged himself from underneath and sat up wincing. The creature shrank and transformed. Lee knew her and if he had had the strength he would've retched and cried.
Aemelia.
He'd never sat through a lesson with a Carrow. The only possible way he would've learned a curse like that was from Bellatrix Lestrange. And he cursed her rotting corpse because she managed to torture him from beyond the grave. Violating his mind hadn't been enough, twisting every talent he had possessed into a resource for her cause, hadn't been enough, her influence had to linger, and make him hurt people he cared about.
A growl rumbled from the darkness. Lee lifted his gaze and a large, creature with matted fur, bared it's teeth, and Lee thought he knew who this werewolf was. Lucian Daniels shook with animalistic rage and grief.
I won't be controlled by something else. Not again. Lee dropped his wand and laid back down on the ground. He wouldn't fight this. He'd rather die here than risk hurting anyone else. "...Please."
The werewolf pounced.
Prompt from Aemelia: Kill Me
