This girl went to Sadie Hawkins at Six Flags today. I went into her room and proclaimed to a huge mound of pillows and covers, “Addie, you’re supposed to leave soon!” She looked at her clock, did this 🙄 and said, “Mom, I have 10 minutes. That’s plenty of time.” Then, as I drove by her car, parked in the street, to get Emma to her Lifeguard Academy, we noticed both of her car windows were down all the way, all night long, and I gave her a 🙇🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️-somebody probably slept in her car last night!? She is low key hilarious. Heading into her senior year, she wanted to do all the high school things, especially after missing so much being at her public school during COVID, and she’s doing them! FIRST real ROLLER COASTER today too 😮🎢! She is sooooo excited, and with her brothers she watched as many rides on YouTube as she could just to prepare. She isn’t scared of roller coasters, we just never went to theme parks as a family, because it was a small fortune to take everyone #bigfamilyproblems 21 miles hiking to the bottom of Grand Canyon and back up is free and Oh so memorable😩😂, and after youth pastor years, my husband has an aversion to theme parks. Camping/hiking for life 🏕! Have a blast, my girl! Geez, you make me so proud because I know what it has taken for you to get there today! Taking lemons & making lemonade 🍋 Make the best memories! How do I break it to them I’m they can’t have their friends over again? ⁣ ⁣ Another day another change in the rules in this #pandemiclife we are in. ⁣ ⁣ As we are already a family of 6 this affects us quite a bit. It means no more trips to cousins. No more pizza fridays with friends. No more meeting up on the canal for a kayak. And heading back to WI was on the cards next month but that is now off again too. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Let’s hope that this move is the one we need to get those numbers down again. That and the lack of tests so people with symptoms now can’t get tested anyway. 🤷‍♀️⁣ ⁣ Oh well. Social distancing day 6: I worked out, showered, actually changed out of workout clothes and leggings in preparation for the first of many zoom video department meetings. I literally got out of leggings and a sports bra for the first time since last Thursday. Sometimes you have to have a break from routine. Breakfast with the big two as a treat. Sometimes these two get pushed aside. I’m sure that’s what a lot of their behaviours stems from. The little twins take so much of my time and energy at the moment. But I’m all too aware that their littleness won’t last forever. Anyway. I’m going to be trying to make more of an effort to give these big two a little more of my time. Any ideas to give everyone a little bit of one to one would be appreciated.
