RepublicVictoria discovered some news from 2013 Japanese newspapers that might break the hearts of Showa Rider fans.  Shunsuke Takasugi, the man who played Kazuya Oki/Kamen Rider Super-1 has been in trouble as he is in the aftermath of a scandal with his Japanese fans.

Seems Mr. Takasugi from 2003 to 2012 was conning at least five fans by lying to them about needing money. One excuse he made was that the Yakuza stole the original prop Cyclode belt from his show which he said was a keepsake from his time working on it and needed the money to pay them off to get it back. 

He bilked over $45,000 US equivalent in cash during this little scheme and has apparently gone into hiding as none of his friends or family have seen him since January of this year. He was to appear in court to face those he had wronged about the charges but he then refused to show up.

If Mr. Takasugi was desperate for cash due to not working, it is shameful he resorted to such tactics. As someone who loved Super-1, I feel nothing but disgust for the actor doing this.
