Whereas Western Science holds the concept of multiple personalities in a single being, in African Cosmology there is the understanding of multiple aspects to our Spirit - the life force that animates our bodies. The various spiritual selves work in tandem to achieve wellbeing and balance in a Person and direct one towards the fulfilment of their life purposes(s). In being conversant with these aspects of the self, one then has greater perception of the full potential one has and how to build and shape it into character.
