He could hold the little chick in his big, big hands and look down on it with so much love
He could have the chick sit on his head while he talks to people; it would be so high and happy
The chick could sit on his shoulder and nibble on his ear
When the chick grows into a hen and lays eggs Luther has eggs for breakfast from his own chicken every morning! He would be so proud
He would call himself the chick’s mom and nobody would question it

As flamingos fill their bellies with mollusks, crustaceans and algae containing beta carotene they slowly metamorphose into carrots their feathers pick up the pigment. Chicks hatch blind and naked. Both parents take care of the young and feed them with a diet rich in proteins. Nestlings grow fast and leave the nest in about 16 to 25 days, depending on the region. After they fledge, parents continue taking care of the fledglings for about three weeks until the fledglings become independent.
