Fenghuang art doll

 Commission - not for sale.  'Fenghuang' is a Chinese mythological bird embodying the feminine, it's the symbol of rebirth, the sun, and south.

 This doll is about 45 inches in full length. Poseable neck has plastic ball-and-socket armature inside. Neck, wings, legs, and tail's long feathers are poseable. Fabric fur, doll armature, wire, feathers, fake leather, primer, acrylic paint, varnish. It also has 6 loops on body and wings so it can be hanged 'flying'.

Peeki Parrot’s eyes are a bit lower than they should be, I think, but she was the only one in the store, and I really wanted her...  Also, in the box, her head was smushed down on her neck, but that was easily fixable.  I really like her colors.  Her shoes are a really cool design too :)

I am pretty sure I’m finally done with attaching Peatey’s wings.  What started out as simply “securing them with Apoxie Sculpt”, turned into sculpting a ton of feathers and sculpting over his whole chest.  I usually cloth my dolls, but I think after all that, he should remain shirtless.
