Ooooo, maybe some Birdbrain AU, Martin struggling to catch Chris (and finally succeeding when the virus has Chris in too much pain to thrash)?

i think i focused on Chris in pain a little too much...

How Martin reacts to seeing Chris like this (birdbrain)

Oooooo, now this is a fun question >:]

Let's see, his brother disappears for a bit, no signal from his creature pod, but it's only been a few hours so if he's in trouble it can't be that bad, right? But then Martin finds Chris, perched on a branch in a harpy eagle power suit, so all must be good now, right?

But Chris isn't responding to his name. Isn't really giving any indication of hearing it beyond a single glance Martin's way. Flies off when Martin climbs up into the tree to grab him. Doesn't say a single word the entire time.

Chris, Martin realizes, isn't acting like Chris. And the longer he chases after him—the longer Martin spends losing Chris in the trees, tracking him down again, only for Chris to shriek and fly off and the cycle to repeat—the more it starts to settle in that something is very wrong.

And then Martin sees the button on Chris' chest, smashed and glinting with tiny sparks every so often. Fumbles with his creature pod to call Aviva and let her know there's been a serious malfunction while Chris flies off again.

Some fruitless searching later, Aviva on her way with her own CPS and the MIK, Martin runs into Zach.

Who very nearly does to Martin what has been done to Chris, and is only stopped because he spent so long gloating about his brand new malware and how effectively it took Chris out of the game—Zach gloats long enough for Aviva to show up and free Martin, allowing them to end Zach's little plot and send him flying off in his jet, screaming about how even if he lost he has the solution to the virus and "YOU'RE NOT GETTING IT, WILD RAT! ENJOY YOUR BIRDIE BRAINED BROTHER!"

So how's Martin feeling about all this? Definitely angry at Zach, and a little angry at himself for letting Chris investigate things on his own—it's almost like the rhinos and Toodles all over again.

But most of all? Martin is determined. His brother is Not Okay, and Martin is going to find him and catch him and get him to Aviva so she can fix things. He's already broken Zach's nose for his crimes—now it's time to focus on helping Chris, however he can.

So yeah. Martin's a lil stressed.

Before I turn in for the night I'm gonna make one more request so I don't forget to in the morning: Birdbrain, Martin activating harpy eagle powers himself to engage in an aerial dogfight after Chris snatches Jimmy?
