This was the design I made for Ryan and my wedding invitations! I loved painting this piece, though it was a hefty project to take on. Today I wrote and illustrated this theory on How Monsters Reproduce! 0 - PREFACE This post will only focus on ACTIVE SOUL Intercourse, or ASI. There is another version of the theory, PASSIVE SOUL Intercourse (PSI) which will not be touched on for now. 1 - CONTEXT Because monsters are made of the magic of their SOUL, their bodies and internal functions are very different to humans, who have flesh and bone. Because monsters do not have flesh and bone, then their reproduction system must involve their SOULs. This is where ASI comes in! 2 - THE PROCESS Step One: The two monsters should have an existing bond, whether it be romantic or platonic. Step Two: The monsters expose their SOULs to each other. Because the SOUL is what keeps a monster together (literally and figuratively), exposing it is a very strong act of trust. Step 3: The monsters slowly merge their SOULs together through physical intimacy. At this point, the SOULs are nearly merged with each otherin what is called Near Complete Merging. Step 4: The SOULs fully merge with each other in what is called Full Merging. Step 5: The combined SOUL energy will form a third, child SOUL within either one of the parent SOULs. Step 6: The gestation period will last six months on average. Step 7: After this period, the body of the parent with the child SOUL will temporarily destabilise. This is to make sure the child SOUL can leave the parent body more easily. Step 8: The developed child SOUL leaves the parent SOUL. Step 9: The child's body and SOUL slowly leaves the parent's body. Step 10: The child has fully left the parent's body. Both the parent and child's body will return to a state of stability. Boom, a monster is BORN! P.S. Despite what the drawing looks like, the child will look much smaller and be less developed when it is born.
