Fanon Amy Rose (Sonic the Hedgehog)
*Suits up her Company 8 armor and prepares her ignition.* If there ever was a fucking anime that made me love unique fire based company it is Bloody Fire Force. Initially the entire concept from the original trailer looked kinda of dumb to me. Well, Freyja smack me for my judgemental ass as this is perhaps one of my favorite anime to date! In the next few days I’m gonna be adding character thoughts on FIre Force and other anime as I step up my pandemic binge watching.
Let’s ignore the fact that this anime’s origin lies is Atsushi Ōkubo the same creative mind and the mangaka of fucking Souleater. The world build is perhaps, some of the best I’ve seen in a long time. It’s simple stuff in the the apunkalypse setting. The fact that the very apocalypse gave birth to a new religion as well as the powers of fire itself. To me, the idea of people randomly cumbusting into fire monsters is pretty straight forward as well as generic from a glance. But once to start tossing in other elements like a certain White-Clad cult do we get more depth to the world.
The multi-cultural and post-national status of the Tokyo Empire is also fascinating. Everyone uses westernize naming conventions because all previous nations were literally ‘burned away’. This of course creates situations of “proto-nationalists” groups of people who try to hold to those remanants. It’s a simple idea, but at the same time it also creates a nice little bit of lore for people to love.
The combination of soldier and priest found in the Fire Soldiers really adds a bit more depth. Screw that bit, let’s get into FIRE BASE POWERS! This entire anime is all about fire and how it can be manipulated to create different abilities. The more obvious ones are those who can create bursts of flames. But, that doesn’t stop us from having a body-building flame witch (with fire elemental piloted hammers) or a woman that creates heat flowers and trees. Honestly, I haven’t seen powers these these diverse and weird since One Piece. This is all with some seriously bad ass animation!
Thanks everyone, more Fire Foce posts will be coming soon...

RAISE THE BAR
Throughout LGBTQ history, the bar has played a vital role in keeping the pulse of the community flowing. Under its countless layers the bar has always been a place of community, empowerment and freedom. Think back to the Stonewall Inn and its place in history, the bar was a place where LGBTQ people could assemble, express their love and harbor form societal oppression. But, can the same be said for LGBTQ bars today?
OMC has decided not to wait for that answer. Instead, we have ignited a new campaign to “Raise The Bar” and bring awareness to HIV/STIs, substance abuse, homelessness and mental health. Having launched its inaugural campaign at Boxer Sports Bar, OMC will be the catalyst for a stronger social service presence in America’s Gay Sports Bar. OMC will provide services as Boxers’ Social Service Ambassadors, promoting our renowned safe-sex baggies with referrals to medical and mental health services for patrons.

And there are just the people that I actually know have been killed and identified as LGBTQ. I’m sure there are more, names we’ll never speak and stories we’ll never know. We need to find a way to shake off this ennui and wearying fear that marriage equality is what we stand to lose when it is so very apparent that we have already lost far more – our neighbors, our friends. They are dying not necessarily directly because they are LGBTQ, but they are dying and they are LGBTQ and we must pay attention.
We are losing them and sitting by idly wringing our hands with fear that people might think there’s a secret agenda at work when we demand that the media, the police, the DA and the public acknowledge someone’s actual identity. What an outrage – to demand accuracy and depth.
To say their names, even when we don’t have their names, is our obligation as their survivors. As witnesses to their lives and deaths and all that comes in between – read the life eperiences of nearly 190 LGBTQ neighbors to fill in the gaps in what we know.
