My Ideal World
How do you know if you're bi or not? Asking because I wonder if I'm actually in the closet and not aware or in denial.
for me it wasn't too much of a struggle internally because i'd come to accept pretty easily that i liked all genders, found the label that best described me in bisexuality & i had accepting parents. obviously those with less accepting primary environments like parents or guardians might struggle more because comphet & such will essentially try to "push away" that same gender attraction.
it also really helped me to know that my gender attraction doesn't have to be a 50 / 50 split between men & women; because bisexuality doesn't mean attraction to only two genders. reading up on some old bisexual think pieces from bisexual people like the "biseuxal manifesto" & anything from brenda howard [who created pride!] was massive in me cementing my identity as a bisexual person.
USA elite skater and junior national champion Amber Glenn: ‘I don’t want to hide who I am’
US Figure Skater Amber Glenn comes out as bi/pan!
Am I bisexual?
Maybe. Still unsure. I think about it more and more lately. How will I ever know for sure?
🤔🤔
Im a baby bi and havent been a part of the community/tumblr for a long time but id much rather be part of the queer community than the lgbt community cuz the queer community seems to give a fuck about people other than cis white gays
Welcome to the community!
I too feel like the queer community is more inclusive in general. It, like every community, has its problems - but it feels more open and welcoming to people who don’t neatly fit in to the gender or sexual binary. Even the name itself lends itself better to not leaving people out. LGBT is the most commonly used form of the abbreviation - but that leaves out everyone but lesbian, gay, bi, and trans people. And every other identity gets more or less tacked on depending on who is talking. LGBTQ, LGBTQA, LGBTQAAT, etc etc. I realize not everyone likes the word queer but I think it’s the best we’ve got - it’s a reclaimed slur that is ours.
Happy visi-BI-lity day♡

Lowkey so annoyed when people say “boys and girls can’t ever really be just friends”
I’m bisexual. So what? I’m completely incapable of a platonic friendship with anyone? It’s so absurd.
