shit dude! i’ve always wanted to make benedicts and croissants. yumyumyum
Eggs bennedict isn't so difficult, the hollandaise sauce is probably the worst, if only because if you don't have the proper tools, it can come out funny. Tip: Prep your butter by using a peeler, slicing it thinly. I prefer the stovetop method of making the sauce, mixing the egg yolks, with a little bit of water, in a sauce pan, slightly heating it for a 10 count or so and then removing, stirring the entire time. I add the butter and stir it in, using only the yolk's heat, see why we used the peeler? Half way through adding the butter, you can add your lemon juice to add that acidic component. After the butter has been added, you can start heating at 15 to 20 counts, the butter helping the emulsification.
I know that's not a full blown recipe, but the method of making hollandaise is pretty straight forward. Ask away if you have any questions!

Breakfast is the best meal of all.
I know, right? Best way to start the day!

i wanna know what you had for breakfast!!!
Ok, this is a little nuts but this was my breakfast, all made from scratch:
3 Eggs bennedict and honeyed ham on english muffins
14oz Country fried steak
Mushrooms, spinach, bacon and cheese curds quiche
Beef curry filled croissant
Chicken roulade filled with asparagus, sauteed mushrooms, roasted red bell peppers and prosciutto
Fruit salad of kiwis, raspberries, cantaloupe, strawberries and grapes
The thing that took the longest was making the muffins, really. Outside of that, it was just timing everything so that it would finish around the same time. The baking at the end was a bit interesting, the quiche and the croissants were at odds with one another.
I think I'm ready to go cycling now, hahaha.

gaaaaaawd that’s so cute! did you ever send the stories to her?
I sent a few of them to her, I ended up writing a whole 386 pg book. It was a story of two people who only ever met in their dreams and had to try and piece together clues to try to find one another. She ended up never getting to read it all because what we had ended before I could.
If you're not following these people, you should!
gingerfitjoneshealthsanctuary is constantly posting home made food that makes me jealous and hungry.
upforsomethingbeautiful is awesome and is training for a half marathon and is doing this cycling event 1350k to Disneyland.
biteheavy is a heavy lifter and also posts lots of yummy food, sometimes home made sometimes from going out and about.
almondsofjoy is the reason I am totally cool with my blog being my blog and being comfortable with not reblogging just to do so. She does nothing but personal posts, and yes, some are non fit related, but hey, it's her blog. She can do what she wants.
claireruns is an amazing yoga enthusiast who is a partial reason as to why my dogs stare at me funny as I try to do the things I see on her blog.
And the other reason for my trying yoga, is the now trained at being an instructor, dobetternow. She's one of the first fitbloggers I started following here on tumblr. Got to meet her twice and is an amazing, smart and kind person.
