BL Idea: All the office BLs are taking place in the same office and it's a nightmare for the HR guy. One of the side-kick/friend in an attempt to distract him from his friends end up making HR guy commit HR violations
So, I regularly mix up Between Us and Remember Me's titles in my head.
...
Remember Us is a show about a mute swimming champion who stopped speaking due to a traumatic event in his childhood and the team captain that takes care of him.
Between Me is about a young man who has trapped himself in his hometown due to his anxiety and the older student who he falls for but has to move away from university and struggle with the separation.
There.
That's what me brain does when given a chance.
My Ideal Plot For a Non-Budget Breaking BL based on soulmates
So, first, it’s the soulmate AU where you have the first words your soulmate says to you tattooed on your skin. They appear somewhere around you 15th birthday, so this can be either high school or university based. I’d go university based. Because I like it.
The primary couple, of course, meet in the first episode. They interact a few times without speaking, bumping into each other in crowded hallways or seeing the one of them being an ass. Then they speak, they gasp, and hate it! Enemies to soulmates, yo. ENEMIES TO SOULMATES. Let them try to prove the tattoos wrong! Let them fight fate and then find themselves there anyway.
The secondary couple have been sort-of flirting/dating for ages despite absolutely knowing they’re not soulmates. They both have very generic tattoos and have both just kind of decided to enjoy themselves together. In the end, it turns out they met as children, before their tattoos appeared and are, in fact, soulmates.
The last couple is basically Thanu and Phai. They keep aaalllmost speaking and then being interrupted or separated. They know they’re meant to be but just absolutely can’t seem to MEET no matter how hard they try. They’re SUPER background.
Obviously there’s plenty of drama available to all of them and lots of comedic moments. And there’s one poor guy who has Khrab tattooed on his arm and he’s just absolutely miserable and he gets to meet his soulmate in the last episode as a total joke because the other person has WHY ME tattooed on their arm.
... It’d be perfect and it totally fits their budgets and it’d be the BEST please do this someone somewhere.
You know what I want?
I want a BL set in a high-end clothing store. Where one of the main characters is a suit fitter who falls in love with a regular customer and decides to try to flirt through fashion choices.
Just imagine... well-fitting suits everywhere, characters talking about color meanings and different types of suits and wearing vests and suspenders and perfectly fitted suit coats at all times.
Plus, they can play matchmaker with other customers and have a running gag of two characters buying matching suits by accident and ending up together.
... @absolutebl I feel like you'd also approve this concept.
Just... BL: Fashion Edition.
I think Taiwan would have to take this one because Thailand's suit game is painful.
Hiya there! Sending 2 in a row because I’ll be busy so no rush or anything! I made this one a little more for you so enjoy :’)
Premise: All boys school setting with a teacher ML and his son, a student who’s attending the school. The son is bullied a bit because of his dad being a teacher but has an amazing group of friends. ML tries to defend his son as best as he can but generally doesn’t talk to him (unless necessary) at school due to this situation.
I have been mulling on this one for some time. Because there are so many ways to go about this depending on how old the son is and how I handle the education system (I know the American elementary one well but I know nothing of either high school or Thai school).
BUT ANYWAY. I changed it a bit because this idea slammed into my like a brick wall so... Sorry but it had to be! <3
Okay, so ML and his Son! ML is a very strict teacher. He is, in fact, horribly unpopular at the school among the kids. He's not much more popular among the teachers. He's got walls of steel around all his emotions and mostly doesn't speak to anyone.
All of his love, affection and, honestly, emotion goes towards his Son. Son is a soft, loving teen who's a bit femme and ML is fully supportive of him and all his interests. But he's also very clear that he can't do much at school because he isn't like that and Son understands. In fact, Son asks ML not to push the issue because he's worried that the bullying would get worse.
Now, we have New Teacher. New Teacher learns that Son is related to ML and is bullied and New Teacher is instantly upset. He was the bullied kid growing up and he got no support at home. So he confronts ML about his son being bullied... and is shocked to realize that ML knows and has spoken with his son about it. He's shaken but still bothered.
And that begins an enemies to lovers story of the New Teacher being pissed off at ML for not helping his son and slowly learning his side of the story and then discovering that behind the ice is a loving father who is just doing his best in the face of homophobic society that broke his spirit.
(ML was effeminate growing up, just like his son, and was taught to hide it, to lock down all his emotions, by his abusive father. He struggles with expressing himself, which is how his marriage ended when Son was young, but he feels just as deeply as anyone else. He's just stonyfaced.)
Son is in a very gentle friends to lover slowburn with his best friend Genius. Genius is a super-nerd teen with glasses and a love of video games and books and will put his all into protecting Son along with the rest of their friend group. But Genius has extremely love self-esteem and constantly ignores all the signs of Son flirting with him because No Way.
So while New Teacher slowly learns that ML isn't who he appears to be, Son is madly flirting with a deeply in denial Genius and the entire school is gossiping about them.
And then ML hears the rumors about him and New Teacher.
As much as he does actually care about New Teacher, despite the growing love and affection, ML shuts everything down. He's terrified of homophobia for himself and cannot handle the thought. So he turns to ice, hurting himself and New Teacher.
Son sees this and hates it. He hates that he gets to be out but his father is petrified of the thought. And he turns to Genius for comfort, finally prompting him to just outright tell Genius about his crush. And the soft friends to lovers remains soft and loving and gentle.
But this just pushes Son even harder to help his dad. And he starts to press. He talks to ML more and more, Brings his boyfriend over. Being extra flamboyant. Being sure to talk to New Teacher all the time. Son just wants his dad to be happy.
New Teacher is hurt by the sudden withdrawal. But conversations with Son make it very clear what's going on and he soon embarks on the quest to win their friendship back from this ice and fear.
And, slowly, he drags ML back. And that's all ML has ever wanted. He's never had someone fight to be close to him. He's never had someone that fought to know the him behind the ice. Not even the woman he married and had a son with tried to fight that hard.
The ice cracks on night when New Teacher is visiting their home and Son is sitting with Genius, snuggled together to watch a movie and New Teacher slides his hand over ML's to wrap their fingers together. And that's it takes. ML is crying, silently trembling with tears running down his cheeks.
Son and Genius sneak off as New Teacher carefully comforts ML, talking him through his fears and into a kiss, soft and sweet.
TIME SKIP.
Actually, it's more of a montage. Showing ML and New Teacher figuring out dating and Son and Genius working through their relationship and then it slows down at a real time skip.
And we get to see ML finally being his authentic self. He's softer, still strict but he's no longer made of ice. Most importantly, he has a pink tie clip, pink cufflinks and just enough eyeshadow to be noticeable on a close up.
