This is so funny because I did not care at all about Finnick/Annie. I wasn’t actually big into the romance I just felt like if it had to be Peera or Gale Peeta was clearly the one that made sense. I also just wanted nice things for Peeta. His family was shitty. He got tortured. He lost a leg.

i always latch onto side characters and build up their backstories lmao, i got really into finnick and annie and the fact that i hated their ending did not help. and yeah it's nice to think that peeta and katniss got to have a nice, loving family and a mostly happy life after all the trauma they went through (and lots of fresh baked goods!! marrying a baker is just a great decision)

i remember when i read the books that i preferred peeta over gale as the Love Interest but i wasn't super into the love story/triangle aspect of the series anyway so it definitely wasn't a ship i had strong feelings about. i actually cared much more about finnick/annie lol

it's actually kind of a great story how my parents decided on it. originally my parents made my middle name catherine (semi-inspired by catherine the great lol), but then my mom insisted they had to change it because...it was the name of her new stepmom (her legal name anyway, everyone calls her by a nickname and i didn't even know the nickname wasn't her name until a few years ago).

my grandpa married his second wife like barely a year after his first wife/my biological grandmother died, which suuuuper pissed off my mom and her sisters. my mom did NOT want her dad's new wife to think that my middle name had anything to do with her, even though literally no one calls her that, lest she feel welcomed into the family.

so when i was a few weeks old my parents legally changed it to katerina, which is basically the russian version of catherine and also the name of one of my dad's aunts on his russian mom's side. i only heard all of these details a few months ago when i found the actual legal name-change document when i was looking for some tax form lmao.

(also my step-grandma is awesome and everyone likes her now and we all get along great, it was just uhhh uncomfortable timing on my grandpa's part)

Every week I tell myself I’m going to take a break for a few weeks so I can binge and get through the grimness faster and every fucking week I watch the latest episode.

i feel like it would be way harder to binge?? i remember watching season 1 week to week and being grateful for the break between episodes and from what i've heard season 2 is even more depressing
