james loves salt and vinegar crisps, lily loves prawn cocktail - so they always have hoards of walkers everywhere in their kitchen

they’re tol and smol couple: snogging on tables and kitchen counters, standing on tip-toe kisses which result to him picking her up 

they go on a date every friday, lily puts on her killer heels and startling red lipstick and james tries (and fails) to tame down his wild hair and wears his one and only suit - but they always seem to get food down their clothes or spilling wine or coffee, end up snogging somewhere and told off for PDA

they’re THE worst for pda - cinemas, fun-fairs, dentists… you name it, james and lily have snogged there

of course they had their fair share of blushes, shaking hands, nervous butterflies and hopeful gazes - but once they realised that the other felt the same way there was no stopping them

the couple who were basically THE married couple before they were even a couple

sirius is a little shorter than james, so mary doesn’t have to reach up quite as high to kiss his nose. she puts on heels and they’re almost the same height, but she still gets swoony, day-dreamy and head over heels for sirius whenever he walks into the room

he has so many denim and leather jackets that, when they get too small or confining for him, mary wears them and they look like a damn hollywood pair with their shades and suave jackets

mary is constantly wearing his clothes and he loves it - not so secretly 

they get into petty arguments - both are so stubborn that they’ll fall out over the smallest of things (like eating the last of the sour cream and chive pringles - which they both love and learning how to share is one of the hardest things in their relationship) BUT they can’t stay mad at each other for long and end up getting back together about five minutes later and there’s tears and ‘i love you’s 

mary is such a romantic and she has a bucket list of all the cute couple things sirius and herself must accomplish. such as, dancing in the rain (which he begrudgingly does but ends up loving and the two of them end up doing freaking salsa dancing on the sidewalks), going scuba diving, winning the tuesday quiz at the pub (they compete against james and lily and it turns out lily actually knows more about sports than sirius and james put together, and james knows a lot of useless trivia about usless things - their success is huge and sirius and mary’s defeat is brutal)

Jily and Blackdonald cooking headcanons?

james was taught by euphemia how to cook like scrambled eggs/bread/cake at an early age and as he grew he rlly enjoyed learning how to cook and bake so they did lots of fun baking days!

muggle au where james goes to paris to study at le cordon bleu and meets lily who’s an arts student with wanderlust and they fall in love over their passion for food

lily is a rlly good like home cook - like super good, yummy, hearty and homey dishes like corned beef hash and sheperds pie and delicious desserts like apple pie and crumble

sirius taught himself how to cook when walburga didnt care what her son did, least of all what he ate

so he’d go into the kitchen at night when his stomach was hungry (because he’d refuse to show weakness in front of his family and was too proud to admit it) and saw all these cooking books that hadn’t been used in years

night after night he’d try different recipes and the house elves taught him not just magical cooking but real art of cooking

mary on the other hand…

she helped her dad with the cooking from time to time (because as the youngest she’s always roped into that chore) but never really got into wanting to learn

she can’t cook for toffee 

she almost sets the kitchen on fire one time when she demands that she make him some pasta (because ‘how hard can it be to boil some pasta?’ - it ends up being a burnt mess and in the end they decide to order in an indian and snuggle up together watching netflix)

sirius loves the fact that she can’t cook because,

A: he can do something she can’t - and he gloats and delights in teasing 

B: he can teach her and there’s many a movie moment where he’s guiding her hands from behind, hugging her almost with her hair tickling his nose and they’re so close and they always end up snogging 

C: he wears a ‘kiss the cook’ apron and they literally lose count of how many kisses they share when it surpasses over ‘four hundred and seventy something’

Here’s a headcanon to help you feel better, Gracie. After hogwarts, Sirius inherits his uncle alphard’s fortune and wants to spend an inordinate amount on Mary (maybe a wedding ring???) but she finds out and instead they buy his motorcycle together because the time she spends with him happy is more important than a diamond.

Saw the people talking about the Marauders finding her, and I really like that idea. But I've always imagined it was Lily and Remus who found her while doing their rounds together.

yes!!! lily takes her to the hospital wing, remus continues on and goes back to the common room and sirius is like forty minutes later ‘so, how was rounds?’

and remus is like ‘it was okay, found a couple snogging on the third floor. oh and we found mary macdonald, she’d been cursed by mulciber so lily took her to the hospital wing’

and sirius just spits out like idek tea (can you drink tea in the common room? I SHOULD HOPE SO) and is like ‘WHAT? YOU TELL ME THIS NOW?’ and drags remus and james with him to the hospital wing

urrrrr, blackdonald and christmas jumpers :D

they’re that couple who, once it turns december 1st, are rocking the christmas gear.

mary literally comes home one day with this GIGANTIC smile on her face and sirius is half terrified and half reminded of the day when he first realised he was absolutely, positively and one-hundred-percent in love with her

“guess what i found today!” is what she says, and he doesn’t reply because she’s already fishing out her items. the first is a santa hat adorned with lights and it’s only when she grins at him and presses the pom-pom at the end and there’s this jolly HOHOHO going through his ears that he realises how this going to play out

next she pulls out christmas jumpers and he has to shield his eyes because they’re so damn bright

candy canes, snowmen, snowflakes, father christmas on his sleigh, gingerbread, a yule-log and lots of reindeer cover the whole of it

then she pulls out her wand, taps the jumper and christmas carols start singing out of the sleeves.

she also gets him some christmas themed sunglasses, so he can still look cool when he wears his horrific jumper at the annual potters party

(which he does and he feels a bit better about mary’s choice in jumpers when he sees lily and james in a turkey outfit)

the tally starts in fifth year when for their trip to hogsmeade mary wears this cute muggle dress and sirius is strangely quiet and trips down the stairs when he sees her omg

So what if Mary's always had rather long hair, but after the incident with Mulciber, she impulsively cuts it off (because maybe he made some comment about her being attractive that really stuck with her the wrong way), and so she shows up in Transfiguration one morning with a bob or something, and Sirius is so shook, like holy cow, Mary looks amazing???? Not that she didn't before, but oh my God????? And James has to keep poking Sirius in the back of the head to keep him from staring at her

lily helps her cut it, they go into moaning myrtle’s bathroom right after the incident and mary’s crying in lily’s arms and they’ve got five articles of the witch weekly scattered around them 

it’s mary who decides on the haircut, and when she tells lily what happened with mulciber lily is literally shaking with both anger and fear and she’s def for this new hairstyle 

so in transfiguration when mary is recovered from the attack they decide to show up a few minutes late for wow factor and mcgonagall is just like (y) because she knows all about what happened and her students are like her children

sirius is g o n e. like his first thought is just radio silence? he can’t even think because mary catches his gaze and she smiles that wonderful, warm smile she’s always had even though he knows she’s just gone through something so awful she’s still smiling?

sirius tries very hard not to stare. he’s not rude and he knows she’ll talk about it when she’s ready but she’s only sat a few rows in front of him 

remus makes a tally of how many times he and james catch sirius staring

it’s a rather high number that sirius refuses to acknowledge 

but after the class lily folds her arm into mary’s and they walk off together like a pair of twins. james and peter are pushing him as their group follows and james takes one for the team and shouts ‘OI Evans! what’s 2x2 because i’m fouring four you’ 

whilst lily is hexing james, sirius catches mary’s gaze again. she’s still smiling, her eyes are bright and shining although her smile doesn’t quite seem to reach as wide as it used to.

“You look good, Macdonald.” is all he can manage but it’s enough.

“Thanks, Sirius.”

They both know what he really means and when they’re married they spend an evening in a muggle tent out in the garden, staring up at the stars as they relive all those adventures at hogwarts and sirius asks her if she knows when he fell in love with her

he’d been in love for a while but that day in transfiguration when she stood up against her haters, smiled even though the world didn’t smile back and kept on going and stayed strong. that was when he knew he had fallen in love
