LADs Au set back in a reincarnation type theme (how original) not proofread
“Your highness, You’ve been in there all day!”
You hear your lady in waiting shout from outside the door. You shifted a bit so the covers would fall off your head, and just stared at the door.
“I wish to be alone! My stomach still hurts!” You called out before you dove back under the covers. Your stomach didn’t hurt, but it was the only way you could be alone and try and get a good grip or at least a subtle explanation of this new world.
“The crown prince has been worried about you, your highness! He requires your presence for tea this afternoon!” She responds back, you groan as you bury yourself deeper into the sheets.
‘Well fuck him and you! Leave me alone!’ You scream internally before you speak. “I truly feel unwell! Tell him I’ll see him tomorrow…possibly, if I feel better!” You called out.
There’s a long silence before you hear a sigh. “If that is your wish, your highness.” You hear her call out softly before hearing light footsteps walking away.
You wait until you can’t hear them anymore before you push the covers off you. You get out of bed and walk over to the mirror.
You woke up like this a few days ago. These eyes, these lips, this hair, all of it was different, wasn’t you.
The last thing you remember was walking away from a heated argument with a friend…well not really a friend, more like a leech that attached onto you and wouldn’t let go. You finally broke it off that night, but as you were walking away all you heard was a gun shot before you fell to the floor, a sharp pain shooting through you.
Through blurry eyes you watched him stagger back before running away, leaving you to die in the alley.
You just wanted to get home…and play that one dating game you became hooked on, but now you’re here. You still don’t really have a good grasp on what’s going on, but from what you can tell, you’re almost positive you’ve been reincarnated into the game.
Warmth seeped from within you to your shirt, but it did nothing to warm you up since you still felt cold. Your eyes glanced over, there he stood. He stared for a moment before shoving the gun back in his pocket and running away, tripping on his own feet to escape.
All you could feel in that moment was sorrow, and as your eyes rolled back and as you saw the light, all you could think about was the things you never got to see and do.
It was white, all you saw was the light for a while before the darkness consumed you. And the next things you felt was someone shaking you, you heard someone’s name being called but it was really muffled.
It took about a minute, but the voices became clearly with time and your eyes slowly opened.
Two pairs of eyes greet you, one was purple, the other was brownish eyes. They both looked distraught but their expressions quickly grew to relief at the sight of you waking up.
“Your highness, you’re awake!” The girl exclaims with happy tears in her eyes as she took her hands that were covering her mouth. The young man smiled brightly at you, putting his arm under you to help you sit up, “We were truly worried, princess…”
You sat there while they talked about how worried they were, about how it felt like their worlds were crumbling when they heard the news about everything. How were you alive? Why were you alive? Where were you? Why was everyone dressed like this? Who were these maids and other two people next to you?
“We were truly worried, Mc.”
Now you were scared, you shot up from the bed, pushing past the girl with brown eyes and ignoring everyone calling after you to lay back down and you weren’t ready to walking around.
You made it to the long mirror, those colored eyes, those soft lips, that hair, this face, this body, you are undeniably one of the side characters of the dating-sim game you were playing.
You had gotten into it way before your death, before you met him…
Your character was nothing but a plot device for the main storyline, it was like any reincarnation story. You unfortunately were the villainess.
You stood in front of the mirror, staring at yourself for what felt like forever as you heard footsteps approaching you. Next thing you know you felt a hand on your shoulder, you glanced over in the mirror and saw his dark purple eyes already looking at you. “You need to rest, Mc.”
You stood frozen for a moment before turning to him, “Do I know you?”
You had no other solution, so you chose to play dumb. The crown prince left shortly after you said that, leaving you with your lady in waiting and the servants. You sent them out shortly after him.
And now you’ve been cooped up in this room all this time, while you figure out what you should do. You really don’t understand how you got here, and memories that aren’t your keep popping up inside your head so that does nothing to help you understand your situation.
You stood in front of that mirror for what felt like forever before you heard voices from down the hall, “You’re majesty, the princess wishes to not be disturbed!” You heard your lady in waiting call.
You do nothing but tiptoe to your bed, trying to stay quiet as you climb under the covers. You didn’t want to deal with him today…
You successfully managed to use the covers as a shield before you hear an aggressive knock—well more like banging—on the door.
“Mc? I know you’re in there! No point in hiding!” You hear the prince call out, banging on the door harder. You didn’t respond, only held the covers closer to your body.
“I’m not asking anymore! You’ll be ready in fifteen minutes and you’ll meet me in the garden! That’s an order from your big brother!” You hear him call out before you heard his heavy footsteps walk away from the door.
There’s a long silence that follows before you hear your door open. You shift a little bit before you look out from the covers, your lady in waiting greeting you, standing there awkwardly. “…Shall I help you, my lady?”
You sit across from him silently, staring down at your tea cup as he stares at you. He has a glare in his eyes as you clearly look like you’d rather be anywhere else.
“You weren’t as slick as you thought you were with that little memory lost move, Mc.” He grumbles, grabbing a sugar cube to put in his tea. You don’t respond, only stirring your tea slowly.
“That accident was fatal as well, you were out for a few weeks.” Accident? Okay that gave you a bit of a clear on where in the game you were, one of that side stories that lead up to the main one, so you were at least five years before it.
“But that’s not important.” He cuts off your train of thought, “Why on earth have you been avoiding your big brother?” He whines, the glare in his eyes falling to a pout.
You stare at him with an uninterested expression before speaking. “I haven’t been feeling well, you know this.” You mutter, taking a sweet off the little rack that sat between you two.
His hand slamming against the table makes you jump a bit, “Ha, you really think you can trick your older brother! Adorable!” He chuckles dryly before a forced smile spreads across his face. “Come on, just tell me the truth!”
You weren’t starting to get annoyed, you scoff before you stand up. “I’m beginning to feel unwell again, if I can, I wish to be dismissed.” You mutter, trying to walk away.
A loud thud cut you off, you turn to see he has slammed his head against the table. “I always know this would happen…” You heard his voice whine, muffled by the table.
“My pipsqueak is growing apart from me! She’s all grown up now! She turns fifteen and grows distant!” He cried, gripping the table cloth.
“She’s so cold now! So distant! She might as well toss me aside like blah blah blah…” you tuned him out after a while, you had bigger fish to fry, like how to divert your life from the one the original Mc was set on…
But eventually you can’t focus because of his whining, and you’ve reached the end of your patience. “Caleb.” You say, turning to him. His whining instantly stops as he looks up. “Walk me back?”
Okay, so I’m clearly getting a bit more comfortable with my works because I got more directed works. This one makes me a bit nervous because I kind of want to add more but for right now this will be what I post, enjoy!
