I am so excited to open BLACK MATTER today in the Swiss town of St Moritz, Black matter is believed to exist even if we cannot see it directly, we think it is responsible for the unexplained movement of stars within galaxies. Apart from the obvious relation between its name and the color of my paintings I like this idea of something we cannot see but we know it has to be there. I know I am expressing myself when I paint but I can’t explain the source of the resulting gestures. I am not in any way suggesting that black matter is responsible for what I paint I just liked the relationship between the two unexplained movements, the one observed in the universe and the one traced by my brush. Thank you so much @jeandavidmalat for making this possible, @victoriaaboucaya for being there every step of the way and all the @jdmalatgallery team @rafaelbarros.art @richmorrissey91 @annie_pereira_ . @galerie10.stmoritz for this beautiful space and making me feel welcome. And most of all thank you to you who are reading this, you are the reason why I make this paintings. . . . . . #art #contemporaryart #blackmatter #santiagoparra #stmoritz #jdmalatgallery #jeandavidmalat #switzerland (at St. Moritz, Switzerland.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRYyTCGrH9N/?utm_medium=tumblr
