how strict is the clan / bleakstar with the warrior code? do they have their own set of rules or even follow any?
I dont know how revolutionary this concept is cause I do feel like canon warriors SORT OF touches on cats of one clan having differing opinions on the code, from cat-to-cat. So I think every cat has their own moral compass, but cats more frequently have like, really strong personal convictions like real people. However! Bleakstar's influence has encouraged his clan to be incredibly lax, and reject rules they find "lame" or that do not personally benefit them.
I imagine- and this is just a guess but you were prompted to ask this because of Oddtooth having kits. I think the rule against a medcats attachment to their family and/or lover just... doesn't exist, in any of the clans code.
For meta reasons its: I think its really dumb, and I find it more interesting for them to have kids. I think it leads to interesting dynamics. Like nepotism!
In universe reason: Majority of the clans have more than one medcat, so leaders trust the multiple cats to pass off taking care of the clan to eachother every now & again. Which... is also kind of meta because I think its a little silly when clans only have one medcat at a time. A hospital in a city doesn't have one sole doctor, in my opinion. Additionally I must add that both Dayclan and Day2clan are the minority, but Bleakstar doesn't care about who his clan members like because he's out of touch, and Burnetstar is an incompetent leader, lol.
Hahaaa oh god, for your second question, I've been meaning to do a rewrite of the warrior code to fit into this universe, but I haven't gotten around to it. I'll try to work on it before bed just for you, anon! Its definitely an interesting topic I just suck at writing rules. Also its tough to make them not come off as super evil HAHA
