I have way too many OCs, but here are two I’m thinking a lot about lately. These are Altonor and Masabel; they’re drow. Masabel is a kid who had a Really Bad Day (understatement of the year) which ended up with her accidentally strapped to a riding war bat, escaping from her House’s holdings as they were invaded. (I wasn’t kidding about it being a Really Bad Day.) Altonor is an adventurer, a veteran of a badly-thought-out war that made things even worse for the people belowground, but he and a handful of his war buddies got together and decided they’d do something about that. They formed a little resistance group/tribe bent on resisting the cult which started the war, rescuing and making life better for people hurt by the cult (like Masabel), and making peace with some of the folks the war wronged.
Their story focuses on Masabel’s growth and recovery, learning to live life free of the cult which ruled her family and her life.
Masabel is a proud little firebrand with a strong sense of justice. She LOVES bats, and carries around a small plush one at all times. His name is Va'ati. She will tackle you with all of her six-year-old fury if you so much as threaten Va'ati. :B She is missing her nose – part of the Really Bad Day I mentioned – but as part of the recovery process, she learns to accept and live with that. Her dream is to be a bat-riding warrior dancer and to catch a star and bring it underground for everybody to see.
Altonor is a complete impulsive emotion-driven nut, but dang if his enthusiasm for life isn’t infectious. His brothers usually help keep him from doing anything TOO stupid in the name of justice and equal rights and protecting the innocent. :B He’s enamored with flight and loves animals, especially horses. Learning to take care of Masabel like his own daughter helps him grow into more responsibility over the course of the story. Good thing too, because he’s already got enough scars! XP
They get in trouble on the surface and have adventures.
