GO Z-TEAM
Blonde Blazer x Shy!Shadow Power Reader Headcanons
Note(s): Thank you for your request anon! I decided to make both a story and some headcanons, I hope that's ok! There's a section for platonic and romantic, so you can imagine any kind of pairing you want!
Platonic
Your relationship with Blonde Blazer would immediately stand out to other people because visually and emotionally, the two of you look like complete opposites standing next to each other- her bright colors, confident posture, easy smile, and open charisma contrasted against your quieter demeanor, darker aesthetic, and tendency to physically shrink into yourself whenever attention lands on you
CREDITS TO WHOEVER DID THIS, I DON'T OWN SHIT

Dispatch:
Redemption
Chpt 8- Softy
“We have reason to believe Mr. Vanderstenk’s life will be endangered at a meeting today.” Lunch break is now over and calls started pouring in. Robert sent Sonar and Invisigal for that call specifically, Although Robert tried his best to pair up Waterboy to get experience out in the field. Which was going horribly, most would end up injured because of Waterboy puddles or his wetness in general. Hound could basically feel Robert about to call her up in order to give Waterboy a helping hand, she knew tomorrow she had to deal with Phenomaman.
“I know Robert I know.” He didn’t even say anything but he could basically feel his eyes water up at the thought someone knew what he was feeling at the moment. Hound finished her mission as quickly as possible to get to Waterboy, who at the current moment was trying his best to fight off people with Golem. Golem although was in quite a bind as he kept slipping around missing certain shots. Hound landed quickly, and sent out hounds to cover his ass as she ran towards a crook, letting out a feral growl she threw a quick right jab, sending the man reeling back by sheer force. With her left she then threw a hook straight to the jaw, dislocating it. With the final blow she kicked him, sending him towards a wall where he hit his back and head with such force he passed out on immediate contact. She can hear everyone trying to run away, letting them she turned to look at Waterboy and Golem who stood there in shock.
“Damn little lady, you're scary for real.” Golem said, eventually stalking off to pick up the left behind criminals grabbing them all. Waterboy just kept staring at her as she assisted Golem in the task, she could feel his eyes burning on a hole in the back of her head but right now she can't be soft on Waterboy.
“Golem go on ahead, Robert sent me out here to train Waterboy on his next mission with me.” Red Hound was serious, her face void of emotion, her voice monotone but still authoritative enough to send the mission. “My hounds will accompany you.” Two fluffy looking dogs appeared, both shiny black fur with beautiful ruby eyes. Wagging their tails happily at Golem who looked happy to see them too.
“Yeah… Good luck man. I'm glad I'm not you right now.” With that he quickly left with the criminals sticking out of his body just enough to breathe. Waterboy, looking like he's almost about to faint because he knew who she actually was. Red Hound looked back to Waterboy, she almost gave up to soften up her face but no he needs this she thought. Walking up to him fast, as much as he wanted to move he felt paralyzed in fear but deep within him, he hoped Selene would show.
“Waterboy, what exactly is going on?” Her voice wasn’t loud at all, which was worse, someone not sounding angry would lead one to think they are disappointed instead, poor Waterboy in his little head thinking the worst.
“I-I —I jus-t n-o- ….” He couldn’t get his words out at all, barely even looking at her, she slowly reached up to Waterboy’s face and guided his face toward her softly, reaching further towards his ear, she turned off his and her communicator at the same time.
“Herman relax, you have to breathe.” She lost, she couldn’t help it, it was his first day after all.
“S s sorry, i’m…. Apologize. I… it’s my fault, mistake. I g-get wet whe-when ner….ner…vous.” Herman tried his best to explain as he was soaking wet making almost a lake but luckily she wore good boots to withstand shit like this.
“I understand you're nervous, this is your first shift as a hero, but remember you're still showing up and doing what you can. Can i tell you something as Rogue Knight i believe you have the greatest potential to even be a much better hero than I ever could. As Red Hound I'll train you even harder to achieve that goal, as Selene I'll support you all the way.” Selene set her hands on Herman’s shoulders making sure they were seeing eye to eye. Never in his wildest dream did he ever think he would ever be this close to Rogue Knight, no even better, Selene the real her. The fact that she believed in him, his heart felt it run wild he could feel it trying to leap out of his chest, a fire burning bright within him.
“Wow, i-i just, thank you…” All he could mutter out, thinking he’s seen it all, she gave him the biggest smile, a genuine smile you rarely see in a lifetime, at least to Waterboy that’s what it seemed. He could’ve sworn right there, either seeing heaven or marriage with this woman, his face betraying him as he turned red. Making Selene laugh a bit at his reaction, not knowing this man has fallen for her right then and there.
“Alright, Waterboy let’s go, remember to breathe, stay calm, assist the situation as best as possible and move fast and understand.” Hound said, Waterboy nodded with a new found confidence, Hound picked him up with her shadows and took off with him. Landing more on the east side of their hero territory their mission was to infiltrate a small crook base, nothing bad enough that Waterboy wouldn’t get out alive if he was by himself. A couple feet away on a different roof top, Hound tuned in her intercom.
“Robert we got here, I got ahhhhh….” She trailed off a bit before, glancing at Waterboy who also turned his on and was looking at her. “The Mint, I need to sow, tell me where to plant it, I got Waterboy ready on standby.” She knew Robert quickly cut the cameras to him and started hacking around to find the perfect spot for the smoke bomb. Guiding them there, while trying their best to be stealthy, Waterboy had to watch and learn from Red Hound, how she moved and thinks. He was trying his best, remembering to breathe and steady himself to not shed as much water. After knocking down some guards, they were climbing up the ladder in no time. Hound was surprised by how serious Waterboy really was taking this, he hasn’t messed up a bit of hiccups here and there but nothing too dire. Honestly, it was pretty funny how the guards were tracking his water to only slip by the unseen puddles letting Hound easily knock them out. They reached the top, but before climbing completely up, Hound scanned around to spot three of them probably on their smoke break or easy break because they were all talking amongst themselves. She climbed up but stayed low, Waterboy falling suit, trying his best with his large structure.
“Waterboy, I'm leaving them up to you, I need to quickly get this done, any more time wasted and we lose our window of opportunity.” There’s a reason she needed to set that bomb off at a certain time, there was a crook whose level was way above the rest, his weakness was his lungs. He was a fat bastard who started dealing in all types of drugs and weapons, Hound moved quickly, confident Waterboy could get the job done. Weaving in between shadows, till she reached the vent. Coming out the shadows, she took out the bomb and placed it in between the grooves of the vent. Adding a one minute timer, she looked back to see Waterboy just running like wild animal towards a crook, and launching himself up with his water. Confusing them but he basically just Mega Knighted, the shit of out of them. Hound let out a chuckle, before having to bite back her laugh. She really did not expect that, she would have to train him to improve that move. Amused and impressed, she pressed on forward to quickly get to him, Waterboy getting up seeing Hound quickly approach him.
“Let’s go quickly, Robert lock down now.” She took Waterboy, Robert locked down the building to make sure no one would escape, SDN would send other heroes to collect the unconscious body’s. They flew off, not before the bomb went off, the smoke oozing out in different directions where there were gaps. She could see the people trying to escape before eventually collapsing at the same time, the other SDN dispatchers who brought in big hoards of criminals.
“Hey Waterboy, what was that move back there?” Hound asked amused, Waterboy gave her a smile before trying to explain.
“I-i d-don't know, I just thought about it right there, li-like you said too!” Finally letting out her laugh, she nodded in agreement.
“Okay, cool…. Fuck Wateboy your going to be a menace to society.” Hound complimented him, both of them were smiling very happily. Waterboy was enjoying the scenery from above, Hound noticed and slowed down a bit taking the long route back.
“If they're not flame resistant, then im dick resistant.” Flambae cut in their intercoms, making Hound wonder what he was talking about to say something like that. “Hey if you were a civvie, what would your job be?” Flambae asked everyone.
“I feel like working at a gas station would be chill.” Malevola answered,
“I’d fuck with a pet store.” Prism said, which Flambae quickly shot down.
“Yeah right, you hate pets.”
“I hate pets with bad attitudes.” She corrected him,
“What pets have good attitudes?” Malevola asked sarcastically, which Prism still answered.
“Snakes? They're just chilling.”
“Hmm, that is true…. Every snake is chill.” Flambae agreed, Waterboy who wanted to be a part of the conversation, pitched in his comment.
“I-i d-dont mind being a j-janitor but i always w-wanted to be a a h-h-hero.” He muttered out, they arrived at the SDN building landing on the second balcony.
“Oh he’s got jokes.” Golem poked,
“Don’t quit your day job kid.” Punch up, joked with him.
“Th-this is my… Job…my day job.” Waterboy said, not understanding that they were messing with him until Flambae put it plainly.
“Listen, you tried and you suck. It happens, the important thing is you suck, and you know it now.” Hound shook her head at his comment but glanced at Waterboy who felt a bit down.
“Remeber Waterboy, your friends with me.” She winked at him, Waterboy felt a bit better hearing that and decided not to let it get to his head. They had to part ways, Hound had to write a report and then get set off to different missions. Although Waterboy did improve it wasn’t enough for the rest of the Z-team.
“Oh okay, another puddle.” Golem said,
“Waterbitch almost took me out back there.” Flambae angrily said,
“Is there a return policy on this motherfucker?” Prism asked, annoyed.
“Yeah maybe someone who doesn’t suck instead?” Malevola who is equally annoyed,
“Mm-mmah-my uh, sorry f-for the puddles, it’s involuntary.” Waterboy tried his best to explain.
“Ease up, everyone, it's his first day.” Robert reminded them,
“Can it be his last day too?” Punch up somewhat joked,
“Well if he’s so awful, show him the ropes.” Robert said, trying to encourage the team to help the poor man out.
“Some things you just can’t teach.” Punch up said, which Robert was getting a bit annoyed at.
“Okay, sounds like quitter talk to me.” Robert knows what to say in order to rile up this group.
“You calling us quitters?” Flambae asked,
“Prove me wrong.” Robert stated, everything was going smoothly after that, until some dick hacked in into the Z-team intercomms.
“Hello, dispatcher. Would you like to play a little game? Perhaps a brain teaser?” He sounded so pompous, like he already had the last laugh.
“Ugh i hate this asshole, careful he’s tricky.” Galen warned Robert, who did not sound not one bit impressed.
“His name is Brainteaser, how tricky can he be?”
“Don’t say I didn't warn ya.” With that Galen attended his own team leaving Robert to figure out the crook’s riddle and location. Which was easily enough for Robert tracking him down and sending out people to bring him in.
“There’s a retired SDN hero at Crypto-Nite causing problems. Can you get him out of there?” A rough voice said, which Robert seemed to recognize the hero.
“Oh shit, Astroman? I remember him when I was a kid.” Robert reminisced, trying his best to find out what's going on.
“Poor guy, I been there.” Punch up said, sharing his pain with Astroman who seemed down in the dumps.
“Really?” Robert was a bit shocked, deciding to send Punch up on the mission along with Waterboy.
“Before I joined the Z-team I didn't have a pot to piss in. My old doctor used to be over here, technically he’s a veterinarian , but I've got the physiognomy of a pygmy hippo, so we made a fine pair.” As they headed towards that direction not too far off where the building was at.
