Jim adjusted his light blue tie. Done. He didn’t like wearing fancy clothes much, but that was a really special day. Before leaving, he checked himself on the big mirror on his left. So weird. He hadn’t worn a suit in ages. However, he thought he looked somehow good. The scars from the last battle had fainted and weren’t visible unless he paid a lot of attention. The vest glowed with its silver embroidery and the suit itself had a little shimmer as he moved.
He checked the clock with a golden rim that was on the wall. It was time.
As he went through the corridor, he couldn’t stop thinking about how strange that situation was. After all they had been through together… they were becoming a new family.
He knocked on the door. His mother’s sweet voice answered. There was a tinge of nervousness in it.
Jim opened the door. His mother was waiting, beaming. The wedding dress was pure white, with laced fabric on the top, showing her shoulders, and creased on the bottom, grazing the floor. Her hair was up in a bun and she was wearing jewelry, which she wasn’t used to, some sapphires that made her teary eyes stand out.
Jim blurted out how pretty she looked and offered her his arm with a smile.
